Re: Front end conversion - IFS, disk brakes, rack and pinion
I have the Gerst IFS on my 71 D100 long bed. This is the first generation IFS sold by Gerst back in 2020, before QA1 acquired them. The previous owner had a shop do the work and they installed an airbag system on it as well. Well unfortunately I came to find out that this shop did a lot of things wr...

Re: 1966 A100 Slant 6, 225 -- Can this be retrofitted with A/C?
There is an owner who posted these pictures on the Dodge A100 and Fargo Van Club. There is no direct kit from Vintage Air but you can buy separate components from them. If I find the link I'll copy and paste it here. This guy had it installed in his A100 truck, although he had it installed on a 360....

Re: A100 front suspension help needed...
Mark,
I have a 1967 A100 and a 1969 A-108, I can get you the pictures you need, just give me some direction as to how many different angles/views you'll need. I plan on getting a disc setup for the A-108 which I understand is a different kit.
Thanks,
Matt

Re: 31x10.5 Tires Advice
I still can't get over how clean and original it is (other than the 440 conversion). While the tires look new from the tread, the side walls have cracks, probably from sitting a long time. I had the choice between this 1971 or his 1968 D100 with the factory 383. Wish I could have bought them both. I...

Re: 31x10.5 Tires Advice
Yes I bought it from his widow back in June of last year. Did you know him and do you have any information on the history of the truck? I've been going thru it top to bottom and there are things that need to be changed and upgraded. My receipts tell me he spent a lot on the brakes, the tires and rea...

Re: 31x10.5 Tires Advice
I have them on mine, they were on the truck when I bought them. From the picture you can see where the steering arm had been rubbing on it. While I like the ride height, the steering is really difficult on tight turns, moving slowly. I don't have power steering. Crowded parking lots are not fun plac...

Re: Yoke U-joints and driveshaft recommendations needed
PwrWgnDrvr- you're right, collect a little cash to help pay for a new one! I've been to that place before. MadMC63- The trans was working fine but the fluid is dark gray, almost black in color. I'll be draining everything, replacing the filter, pan gasket, etc. The tailshaft is about 18"long so I ne...

Re: Yoke U-joints and driveshaft recommendations needed
Thanks for the link but I already had a new one made. I needed a new pinion and slip yoke as well. I installed it yesterday and when I backed out of the driveway it started leaking bad. Turns out the tailshaft case is cracked. I guess when the driveshaft let loose it put a lot of stress on transmiss...

Re: Yoke U-joints and driveshaft recommendations needed
Yep, the San Mateo bridge. I'm going to drop it off at the driveline shop tomorrow. The slip yoke may be OK but I don't want to take any chances.

Yoke U-joints and driveshaft recommendations needed
Lost my driveshaft yesterday while on the bridge coming home. I was cruising around 75 mph when it dropped and kicked out the side. Luckily it didn't hit any other cars, I was in the right line and I was able to coast into a turn off area of the bridge. I've read through some posts but couldn't find...

Dropping oil pan on 440
I need to replace the oil pan gasket and front seals on my 440 in my 71 D100. Since I haven't had to do it before, will I have enough clearance to drop the pan with the engine in place, or will it hit the front axle? Or, do I need to remove the motor mounts and raise the engine a little? Now that I'...

Re: New ride 71 D100
I thought it had turned the odometer too, but after looking at all the past receipts and paperwork it's legit. The bench seat is near perfect, zero rust on the floors or cab. The washer bag is still in place with the original ribbed hoses. Every light, signal, etc. work. The original owner had it fr...

New ride 71 D100
I've been searching for another truck since I sold my 66 D200. After a lot of searching, this is exactly what I needed, something that needed little to no work at all. It's a 71 D100 that originally came with a 318. The previous owner (or one of the previous owners) installed a 440. It's really stro...

Milk truck still in service
This company delivers milk to the company I work for. Nice to see this old guy still in service. It's a 1965 D400. The driver told me it has a Slant 6. With today's safety standards, it was crazy to see that single driver seat on a post with no seat belt and the doors wide open. Thought I'd share it...

Re: 16.5" wheels- anyone still using them?
Thanks for the clarification. The tires are old Generals 16.5", so I guess they're not split rims. I was told otherwise when I bought the truck.

16.5" wheels- anyone still using them?
I tried searching info about the stock 8 lug 16.5" wheels but came up short. The question is: Is anyone still riding on the stock 16.5" 8 lug wheels (split rims), and do you think they're worth saving/selling? These came off my 66 D200. I was going to put them in the for sale section but I'm not sur...
