Re: two temperature sending units?

I don't believe they had an electronic carb in 65 although it has a super six intake/carb on it (1977+) its possible they swapped the whole motor or head. I have never ran the numbers on it.

two temperature sending units?

My truck has two sending units. 65 d100 Slant 6. One is hooked up to the orange wire(white wire in the picture) and the other is a broken, but seems to have a wire that reaches to it. Is this right? If so, what does each one go to?

Re: 1969 318 Dual Exhaust (w/Headers)

I would get that kit and if it needs some tweaking, cut it and edit it a bit. All of my exhausts I have built from pipes I scavenged off of cars in the bone yard, newer aluminized and stainless systems are generally in good shape and cheap, at least here in Texas. The diesel guys are always putting ...

Re: Slant 6 Belt alignment

Ok, browsing through some pictures there were lots of different belt configurations for these slant 6 motors. Sounds like best bet would be to find a complete, good setup and replace them all rather than hunting for one that would make the others line up. Thanks for the help, I guess I need to run t...

Re: Brake bleeding

Just had that happen to me. Swapped in a 69 dual pot master cylinder and pedal rod was too long, didn't let the master cylinder open all the way. I was wondering why I had such low flow out of the wheel cylinders when I was bleeding it... Adjusted rod with just a tad bit of free play, rebleed and it...

Slant 6 Belt alignment

The alternator on my 65 slant 6 seems to be mounted back a bit, the belt going to it is obviously at an angle, it has jumped once so far. It also looks like the water pump pulley is slightly out from the crank pulley. The brackets don't look like they have much adjustment other than bending the long...

Re: Finally working on the survivor

I bought a couple rolls of the copper/nickel brake line from a seller on ebay.

Seems to be good quality, cheap price, and fast shipping and it comes with a few fittings as well.

Re: OME Brake cables for Swepties

My 65 d100 had a 1/4 line coming from the single pot master to distribution block and then 3/16 to the wheels. I replaced with dual circuit master and all 3/16 lines.

Re: 1964 dodge SWB spare tire carrier

Thanks for the pic. The spare tire on might truck is rubbing up against the rear end, I was wondering if this was common or not, probably just loose wing nut and tire shifted.

Re: Anyone know the 6bt crew cab utiline in Austin, TX

Got some quick pictures yesterday. Asked around, but no one knew whose it was. Lots of little shops share the same lot. Looks like a decent paint job and a nice looking truck. Still want to see under the hood. It's sitting on a newer frame, so I'm guessing its a 6 cylinder cummins, not a 4. I just c...

Neither of those two. Although, i never saw original color, it was half taken apart whne I first spotted it. I'm back at the office today, I will try to stalk it for some pics this week.

Re: Anyone know the 4bt crew cab utiline in Austin, TX

I used the mixing of terms to cover people who might know one but not the other as they are actually very similar engines, essentially the evolution of the 4bt is the isb. This motor has the one piece valve cover (saw it peaking through a drop cloth), I did not get a close enough look to identify wh...

Anyone know the 4bt crew cab utiline in Austin, TX

A body shop around the corner from our yard has a 4x4 Utiline crew cab, earlier in the year I spied a 4 cylinder cummins ISB diesel motor in it. Looks like it just came out of paint a few days ago, it's now tan. Sorry no pics, as it has always been behind some cars or semi covered up, but I just wan...

Front wheel bearing dust caps.

I am redoing the bearings/brakes on my 65 D-100 and ordered all my parts from Rockauto. Got the dust caps in and they are too small 1-9/16" O.D.. The one old cap i have is 1-3/4" O.D. (measured with ruler, not 100% precise) I searched on Dorman website and found some 1-25/32" caps, slightly larger t...

Wheel cylinders for early 65 truck

I am getting some parts ordered for my truck from rockauto. They list early 65 rear wheel cylinders, and list front wheel cylinders, but only with late 65 rear. What's the difference in the wheel cylinders on early versus late 65 trucks? I am going to upgrade to a 69 dual circuit master cylinder any...
