Re: Door latch assembly rebuild
A follow up to my previous post. While perusing e-bay one afternoon I spotted a set of door latches that weren't D-100 but I could see the star from the picture & it looked very similar. The guy only wanted $20.00 for the pair, I figured it was worth the gamble. When I got them I took them apart and...

Re: New here help with serial numbers on block
Very cool news, thank you. I have been researching the engine as much as possible. I was always a Chevy fan, but did like Mopars. just never went out of my way to prioritize them, until recent years. (had a few in the past). The '65 was given to me from a friend who knew I would take good are of her...

Re: New here help with serial numbers on block
Ok after a little paint scraping I found mine and it shows a B-318 I know the truck is a 1965 long bed w/a poly 318ci and it appears to be internally balanced. I don't see the harmonic balancer. I can't find any info on this particular engine. I do want to perk it up later when I get around to doing...

Re: Door latch assembly rebuild
The star wheels have the same direction on the fins/blades
on both sides that's needed for the door it's mounted on. therefore the opposite (or passenger side) still doesn't work on the drivers. but will on the passenger, (if it had seen enough use to need it).

Door latch assembly rebuild
Ok, if you have had the drivers side door latch assy. on your 65 just get so worn out to the point the door will NOT stay shut. And, if you've had the joy of calling/ driving/e-mailing/texting/and any other form of contact, just to find out that they are virtually non-existant in the used truck yard...

Re: Door Handle Latch Help
With the four screws out the latch should be able to slide down about 6-8 inches around window pillar and then twist around pillar towards door skin to remove. I'm sure the grease is making it stick to the inner door. Mine almost fell out when I removed the 4 screws.
