Here's an idea. Rebuild the poly for the cool factor, then put an MSD efi (or equivalant) system on it. Self learning giving you the best of both worlds, runs great and more hp than a carb. To me the poly has more cool factor. Sounds like you are making a more period type truck, keeping the straight axle and original color.
