Re: Adding power brakes 225 equipped..DONE!
I purchased a Booster off ebay. Seller said it was off a 70 Camper special...all I had to go on. Got it today and it couldn't have been any easier to install. Had to drill 4 holes in the firewall that matched the bolt pattern of the booster. Very easy as there are four factory indentation in the fir...

Adding power brakes 225 equipped..DONE!
I'm almost afraid to start yet another Power Brake thread...please pardon me... I've read a couple [3-4] power brake threads but none seem to address my need.. My 71 is a slant six, automatic. That said...I should have tons of room for a booster right? Keeping the 4 wheel drum, just want to ease ped...

Re: Motor City Sheet Metal?
I knew a guy who used roofing tar all the time. I couldn't get over two things...it never dried...I'd always get covered with it when I rolled around under the car and when he used it inside, I'm not sure the smell will ever go away. I'll bet it took 30 years for the original floor to get pinholey.....

Re: Motor City Sheet Metal?
I won't disagree with it being strong enough but you have sandwiched metal and that is a recipe for rust, IMHO. The main issue is it is not just an overlap joint but a quite large floor area where water will sit. Trust me, it WILL find its way in from either the top, bottom or side. For MY applicat...

Re: Motor City Sheet Metal?
I'm very happy with my repair but you fellas can fix your trucks the way you like. :salut But did you look at what I was fixing? The original floor was 95% rust-free. There were no structural issues. The cab mount was solid. Biggest hole was 1 inch by 3 inches. It had a patch the size of you hand po...

Re: What is this 1971 Power Steering part called?
Thanks....I found a blow-up and I'm figuring it out. Anybody know how much 'play' is ok to have. I'll bet this thing moves the better part of a half inch...I'm not worried about the drivability, I just want to be safe.

Re: Motor City Sheet Metal?
I just got a driveside off ebay..It was like $75 to my door. ULTRA fast shipping if you need it. It's NOT die -formed. It is handmade. maybe a little disappointing compared the stuff I've bought for Chevelle's and Mustang's but certainly serves a purpose. No pocket for the body mount and as you can ...

The dash on this sucker is black, not truck color..The paint is shot...beyond shot...door jamb is the best spot but IF I scan it, I don't want to scan it there...as It's NOT faded...I just want to 'blow in' a couple spots on the floors and rockers ...

Paint code/color..con fus ed !
So in my investigating..There is no paint =code to be actually found on a 1971 dodge Truck? No tag or decal...no code written on the firewall...correct? When I look thru paint chips..NOTHING looks right to me [see picture] ... Someplace I found reference to a Dodge F3: (Medium Green Poly) which look...

Re: Gas tank full of rust.
Found the cheapest [repop] Mopar sender on ebay..[for a 67 GTX] $35 to my door. I guessing I'll be able to take it apart and graft the electronics it to the chevy sender and make it all work...Hopefully by the end of the week.

Re: Gas tank full of rust.
Update. Chevy sender is backwards from the Dodge..empty on the Chevy is Full on the Dodge-confirmed' You CAN use the chevy simply by attaching the float arm on the 180 from is original location [cut and solder on opposite side. This will make the sender work opposite from GM's intention. When you ar...

Re: Gas tank full of rust.
So they are indeed opposite...thanks for the 411 on this...I see an easy fix on this...just fudge the float arm around so up is down...and vice versa.... still I have to make the gauge work wither way...anybody have a good gauge out there for sale?

Re: Gas tank full of rust.
The Chevy unit came in today and it reads 0 empty and 95 full. {aftermarket reproduction] It would suck if the dodge sender is opposite.. Gauge reads empty unhooked...does a chevy read full unhooked? I tried grounding the factory wire to the dash and I got no change...I'll futz around with it more o...
