1969 W200 w/ Utility bed, did I screw up, again... ;-)

So, I go to on a road trip to see a sorry @$$ '78 IHC 1600 4x4 "sold to highest sealed bid" by a small town Fire Dept in the next county (I made a bid on it, but I hope I never see it again..) , and of course (or not so much anymore) I see some Sweptlines along the way, a half a '65 or so D100 with ...

Re: 4x4s represent!!!!

The old truck high up in the woods over upper Spirit Lake ID? Thx ;-) I'd been going mostly up (steeply in places) for 6 miles when I shot that. Not too far after that, the road leveled out and dead ended. I got out and walked around, mindful of moose and bears. There were big patches of snow on the...

Re: 4x4s represent!!!!

Too right. That was an early '65 with the shorter wheelbase, 122"? and the "cab/axle" measurement was the difference. I think they changed it to the longer CA length in mid to late '65, because camper trucks were becoming more popular? I didn't know anything about this prior to owning that '65, I fo...

Re: 4x4s represent!!!!

Tum Tum & Suncrest is a beautiful area ;-) Love to go through there in the fall, looking at fall colors on the river. Really nice drive out of Spokane, 9 mile to Suncrest, keep following the road through Scot's Valley, then Long Lake Dam, come out in Reardan on Hwy 231. Btw, I shouldn't tell you thi...

Re: 4x4s represent!!!!

Thx ;-)

That's yr '66, the red one?

I was in BC the 70's, real fond memories. Nelson and the Slocan Valley, lived up there for about 6 months through a winter. Just beautiful if you love mountains, endless mountains...

Re: 4x4s represent!!!!

All Douglas Fir, except for the odd Ponderosa (bull) Pine here and there. Mostly all in the home stove, our only source of heat. 12 miles from the nearest town, off the grid. The '70 Power Wagon turned out tougher than I thought. Been pretty badly abused (WA Dept of Game), and then pretty badly negl...

Re: 4x4s represent!!!!

No retirees here... ;-) except for one '63 D100 parts truck that is still complete minus a couple pieces. Getting a load of wood in the snow yesterday, backed up to where the truck sits, quite a bit steeper than it looks. Watch out for parking leaning to the left too much, gas will leak out of yr ga...

Re: Where to get 1970 clutch parts? 383 engine vibration pro

Thx guys ;-) I was pretty much guessing that it is 23 spline, although you can't see the splines with the clutch installed. I ordered a New Generation kit 05-0562, super deal (via slow boat from Amazon). I did undo all the pressure plate bolt yesterday, in some vain attempt to push it back and clean...

Where to get 1970 clutch parts? 383 engine vibration problem

Not having a whole lot of luck finding a clutch kit for a 1970 W200 with 383 engine, 10 spline input shaft from what I hear? Also, does anyone know if this clutch rod kit, for a E/B body with big block, might be the same parts as the pickup stuff? It wouldn't surprise me if it was. http://www.ebay.c...

Re: Junkyard parts = SCORE !!

Damn, your pistol grip set-up is AWESOME!!! Makes me miss my old Challenger... sniff ;-(

But you're a lot less likely to get pulled over in a pickup (I don't think I ever have actually) and you don't have to jack it up to get under it either ;-)

Re: Pics of dual battery set-ups?

Yeah, I was thinking of using another 61-71 battery tray flipped. But it has to sit back a way unless you modify the inner fender (only maybe 6" between rad and inner fender on that side of the engine compartment) and one thing I'm not looking at doing if I can help it is to make alternator replacem...

Re: Not Sweptline but maybe coolest Power Wagon I've seen

Yeah, that's really something. I went and looked at one like it a long time ago that had been a farm truck trap wagon, so it had some weird mods and it was a 315 V8, not a Hemi. The only Hemi I ever saw in an old Dodge pickup was my buddy Leroy that had a 5 window cab, maybe a '55 (?) that had a fac...

in a long time. And for what people are asking for classics these days, damn near seems like a good deal. Oh, if only I had the $$$ ;-{) http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/3398307962.html A true survivor! If you know anybody who's looking for one of these pass it on. Either way I hope it goes to a go...

Pics of dual battery set-ups?

Anyone got dual batteries under the hood? Or pics of a shelf you constructed?

Dang, I remember some old truck I had or seen that had a passenger side inner fender all modded for a battery, nicely done, and unfortunately it isn't one of my trucks... I could use that inner fender right about now.

Re: NE1 running the Mopar Performance Blue Voltage Regulator

I think by 1970 Mopar had the electronic regulator on the firewall, seen as my original wiring harness has the plug for the electronic "flatback" regulator. Beside I don't think that you'll see any serious gains using the "blue" box. Actually, the blue box makes a pretty huge difference, and I ran o...
