1970 Hardware
Still working on the 70 Power Wagon. Just got it back from paint. I need help determining what hardware is used on the grille. Also, does anyone make a gasket for under the three screw mirror base plate? I almost can't bring myself to tighten the screws and squeeze the somewhat sharp bracket against...

Interior color
Hello, Jamie here. We are nearing paint on my 70 W200 build. The truck is orange with a white roof. The inside of the cab will be orange as well. I scored a factory rigid headliner and headliner trim out of a 1970 custom truck. That is light tan. The door panels off the donor truck doors are also li...

Re: 70 Power Wagon Build
Well, Things are moving along. We have the passenger side of the cowl, firewall area structurally finished. Had to hand make some pieces. Now it is just to replace the outer cowl area right above where the fender, door seam is. Have to wait to do that till the hood is on for a body line guide. The n...

Re: rare bumper??
I actually found one of these bumpers off an adventurer '71 truck. Truck was mostly all there so I grabbed the bumper and EVERYTHING else that I thought I may need at some point that wasn't welded to the body (and even a couple things that were welded to it!) $20.00 with all brackets at the you pull...

Re: 70 Power Wagon Build
Traveler,
Thanks. It is progressing SLOW! Yes, I would definitely consider selling the short box. If I don't sell it, that's way too much stuff laying around... I may have to build another truck to use it!
Thanks,
Jamie

Re: 70 Power Wagon Build
Yes I did. Got it all from a board member here located in southern PA. REAL NICE stuff. Still needs some fitting and trimming, but what doesn't? Cab floor is FINALLY finished. Now we are just finish welding and grinding all the seams. Should be pretty nice when finished!

Re: 70 Power Wagon Build
Trevor, Thank you for the compliment. I really don't know if it is a factory color. The cab was obviously yellow originally as we found yellow all over under the dash, etc. So, I apologize, I can't help you out there. It isn't a bad color. I am really leaning toward orange with a white roof when we ...

Re: 70 Power Wagon Build
We mocked up the cab and box on the later frame. Again, things are going AWESOME! We have to move the rear diff 2 inches forward because of the wheel base difference. That is already done. Picture is before though. Its starting to look like a truck! Then, all back apart again

Re: 70 Power Wagon Build
Also been making progress on bed as well as cab floors, rockers, etc. Picture of passenger side rocker, floor, door hinge area replacement. It is truly a shame how the previous owners butchered this poor truck. The trans tunnel is torched out, the floor to the rear of the tunnel was also torched out...

Re: 70 Power Wagon Build
We took the 208 transfer case and mocked everything up. Due to the distance that the transmission output shaft plunges into the transfer case coupler, we needed to machine up a 1/4" thick spacer ring to give clearance. Worked well. I have the 445 adapter machined to accept the 208 bolt pattern. Ever...

Trans picture: I obviously cleaned and detailed the unit. It is PERFECT inside. Just re gasketed it and detailed it. It even came with a good (not worn) shifter and a mint factory shifter boot!

Re: 70 Power Wagon Build
Another shot: This shot shows the NP445 that we are using. I bought this from a guy at the Maple Grove Mopar show last year for $10.00. Yes 10.00!!! We thought it a was a NP435. Then started researching and checking and discovered it was a 445 with a 4.56 1st gear instead of 6.69 like the 435 was. Q...

Re: 70 Power Wagon Build
OK, We've been SUPER busy with Trannies, so we've been fitting time in on the truck as possible. Brandon, Ray and Daulton have been hammering away on it pretty regular. So, we pulled the 440 out of the '70 frame and mocked it up in the '72-80 frame. Thing fit AMAZINGLY well. It looks like we will ju...

Re: Door Hinge help
OK. Thanks. I was on VPW's site and didn't see kits for these year trucks. Were you using a kit for an earlier truck?

Does anyone know if the hinges for a '70 are rebuildable? It seems that the pins are heavily swedged in place. Tried a press and they ain't movin' Anyone know how to get them apart to rebuild them? OR if it is even possible. If it is possible, who makes parts?
Thanks,
Jamie

John,
Not sure if you mean "nice" on the truck or the Satellite? :-) Either way, thank you!
