How To, Stereo/Headunit Delete
I have just completed my stereo installation which involved powering a stereo system with out a radio/head unit. I had several people ask how it was done, and I figured it would be easier to do a write up with an illustration breaking it down. My instructions are merely for deleting your heading/rad...

Re: Need help, loose doors
I ordered the kit from easy--street. It has the top corner above the corner glass as the only preformed corner, everything else seems generic. The fit is perfect, but once installed my door got stuck. I removed the latch to discover one of the mechanism latches had broken, and had to weld one of the...

Re: Help finding preformed carpet
As for the ACC Carpets, I just fitted a Poly Backed one into an 04 Dakota, and the fit was very poor. I'm about to fit one in a 94 Ram, and based on how it looks resting out of the box I have no hope for it fitting any better. I hope/there Mass Backed floors are better fitting, I know they will be ...

Re: Help finding preformed carpet
Can you send me a link? I buy everything from Rockauto, and I cannot find a carpet kit anywhere on their site for a 1962, or any carpet for that matter. If you would be so kind to steer a lost soul, I'd appreciate it!bamm67d100 wrote:You can get a carpet kit that is molded on rockauto.com for a good price.

Help finding preformed carpet
I have the replacement rubber flooring I ordered and it looks like crap since it isn't preformed. I am looking for a molded carpet kit for my 1962 D100 but cannot find anything. Does anybody have a link to where I can order this?

Re: Grand Cherokee Axle Swap
I don't think you could get around the tapered axles thou? Right? That was the main purpose for me. you could probably switch out the axles with later sweptline truck axles and use the jeep backing plate on your housing. "measure twice cut once". I think I came out with the cheapest and least amoun...

Re: Grand Cherokee Axle Swap
What size rotors do the Jeeps use? Looks like there only 9"......kind of small for a full size truck, no? I believe you are correct with the 9". These are plenty big, my tundra is similar in size. The truck will be used more for crusing than utility anyways. This is mile stones better than the orig...

Haha, I just happened to pick up an old fuse box from my buddies wrecking yard today; I'll keep that in mind when I put it in. I was thinking the same thing with a center lever.

Re: Grand Cherokee Axle Swap
It's the DANA44 steel.
I got the axle for so cheap, any disc brake kit would cost far more than what I paid. The original was the tapered design and sucked it from the back, so I sold it. This axle will far exceed my setup in the strength department.

Re: Grand Cherokee Axle Swap
Thanks for the help. I am actually an early mustang fanatic, and have several 8" rear ends sitting on the side of my house which were an option, but I wanted disc brakes, I also went against the explorer rear end due to it being too small for one, and it being an off set driveline and is more troubl...

E-brake conversion
I'm in the process of installing the grand Cherokee rear end in my 62 Utiline and I would like to use the e-brake cables attached to the new rear. I assumed somebody has done a conversion from the original trans drum brake and was curious on how they did it. Any info is appreciated.

Re: Brake Booster Mounting Brackets
I made an adapter plate from my old master cylinder. I chopped off the flange in a chop saw, welded in some studs and drilled a hole in the new master cylinder. Presto, changeo!

Re: Grand Cherokee Axle Swap
Actually I'm doing this right now, and everything is working out remarkably perfect. I have now removed off all the original Cherokee brackets and have welded the new perches on, and everything is perfect, the only thing I see is the U-Joints and U-joint straps may need to be used from the Cherokee....

Re: Fuel tank relocaton
Yes, I had to drill out the original swedges and relocated the brace further to the rear, and put in a new cross member to support the tank. I think this is a 16 gallon, but I'm not sure, it's an OG Ford Mustang tank I had laying around. I plan to use a pop top coming up through the bed, since the t...
