Re: wrong wiper motor
This is the switch I used. The black box is the delay control. 6-8" down is a factory connector, just get both sides.

Re: wrong wiper motor
Those were the colors on the donor truck. I just cut off the plug with a 6" pigtail and wired it it in to the ford switch wires as I mentioned above. I haven't gotten around to wiring up the washer yet, but everything else works well.

Re: MU2 Hydraulic conversion
I tore it apart yesterday and the gears are junk. There wasn't any oil or grease in it. I suppose I got what I payed for.

Found the parts list over on t137.com. I'm missing the cable guides, but have the angle brackets. Thanks for the links

Re: MU2 Hydraulic conversion
I'm sure someone has done it, just a matter finding them. I think I'll use the same motor that's spec'd for my Ramsey H200 if I can't find any other info. The clutch fork and lever assembly is missing, but looks complete otherwise. I'll tear it apart tomorrow for inspection and a rebuild.

MU2 Hydraulic conversion
Has anyone done it? If so what hydro motor was used? Anyone know the pto input torque for a max pull? I just picked up a winch for $30 and figured it would be worth while to use it on my 85 ram.

Re: 62 d300
I've never had a d70 front, but i was always told the u joint in the closed knuckle fronts was about the same size as a d44. I assume the tracta joint is larger? Can you still find replacement axle shafts for them?

Re: wrong wiper motor
I used a wiper motor from a 90 w250 and a ford switch with delay box. I'm not exactly sure on the year for the switch so your wires might be different colors. Motor park pos - Lt blue park neg - green low - brown w/ white strip high - red w/ yellow strip Ford switch Park pos - red park neg - black w...

Re: question on clutches
For those of you who are running diaphragm clutches, did you removed the over center spring? I have heard people recommend removing them, but was looking for some feed back from those who did or didn't. I don't mean to highjack, but it seemed like a good place to post.

Re: wrong wiper motor
I'll take stab at this. My 62 had a single speed wiper motor(two wires). The switch was a rheostat, which varied the resistance and the speed that the wipers moved. I'm guessing that the newer 4 wire is a two speed motor and the switch would have high, low, off. I would think that the knob would int...

Re: 62 d300
That's the one a remember. That's a good looking truck. I've move some 4ft sections of ties and those were heavy as hell. I don't think i would want to mess with those ones. they look to be 10-12 ft. I'm running newer axles, a wide d70hd from a 80's chevy dually and the d60 from a 90 w250 with chevy...

Re: 62 d300
Kaegi i do remember seeing your truck. I think i remember seeing a pic of it loaded with old barn beams or railroad ties. Eventually i would like to find a ute bed for mine, but i will use the flatbed until its up and running.

Re: 62 d300
No install pics for the steering box. I was browsing the junk yard and seen it on the truck mounted 90 degrees from what you normally see. It originally mounted on a cast iron bracket, but it wouldn't fit the 62 frame, so it made one out .250 plate. You can't see it in the pic, but I put in a D60 fr...

You can still buy 17.5's. They're mostly steer or trailer tires though.
