dash vent knobs
Im upgrading my interior. I found the cool aluminum machine turned dress up piece that goes on the lower control panel. Do the vent knobs pull or screw off or do I have to take the whole vent cable out?? The cable is being a pain, it would be a lot easier if those knobs just pulled off. There is no ...

Re: What would cause a 318 to not run, have fuel and spark.
yes, those chains get very stretched out with time. When rebuilding a small block make sure and put in double roller steel chain. Easy to check if it jumped time. Put no. 1 cyl. on top dead center comp. stroke and see if roter is on no. one position on dist. cap. If you have valve cover already off ...

Re: What would cause a 318 to not run, have fuel and spark.
If she was driving it and it just shut off, sounds like a ballest resistor. Thats exactly how it would act. Carry a spare at all times. I was driving the old 65 and crossed some railroad tracks and bounced enough that the rusty spring in the old ballest resistor broke, immediate dead engine. I was p...

I dont know where it bolts to (the resistor end) on the back of the inst. panel. The hot wire is plugged into the amp gauge. If I dont run a amp gauge do I need it??? What is it ...

Re: fan shroud needed
fan shroud is done! Took a metal one I had and took the top and bottom curved pieces off. shortened the width and re cut the hole to match my fan. Welded it back up. Looks like its factory fresh!!! Hopefully this will solve my over heat at idle problems. I also bought a new mopar perf. clutch fan. I...

Re: Clutch replacement ?
The NP 420 4 speed is really straight forward, no brainer to put disc in. The worse part of the entire job for me was taking out all the interior. Bench seat, floor mat, and the tranny hump needs to come out. Only 4 bolts holds the whole tranny to the bell housing. Its a 2 man job from there. One op...

Re: Clutch master cylinder
my slave failed after only 3 years due to moisture, rust. Im trying silicone. So far, working good. Ill let everyone know how it lasts. In therory, should make master cylinder and slave cyl. last a lot longer as silicone doesnt attract moisture. Im uning silicone in the brakes also.

rear main seal advice
Well, my freshly built 360 is leaking oil after only 3 months of use. Its getting on the clutch and giving me clutch chatter. Leaking enough to come out of the weep hole of the flywheel inspection cover. After dropping the trans and removing the flywheel, I can see the oil coming out of the seal ont...

Re: amp meter to volt meter
hi guys, I did all of above, major improvement and safer now. Not hard, anyone can do it. Lots of tech articles on line telling you how. I bypassed my amp guage (the weakest part of a mopar electrical system and it will fail eventually) by putting in a 10 guage wire from pos. battery post of relay s...

leaky rear main?
problem. After driving my new 360 for a few months, I start to notce an oil leak coming from the fly wheel inspection cover. I also start to notice clutch chatter when letting out the clutch. Pulling the inspection cover of fly wheel and its coated with oil. It looked as if it were coming from the o...

Re: fan shroud needed
Thanks for the offer JIm, but that one wont work. my engine is offest to the radiator. Your fan shroud has the hole in the center. I may have to custom make one. I already have a shroud like yours and it wont cover all of the radiator.

Re: clutch peddle not returning fast enough
IDEA, I can take master cyl off fire wall and unhook from peddle then just simply see if peddle moves freely without any friction. Sound good?? If prob. is in the bearings, I would see this when moving peddle freely without pushing master cyl. I still dont see why a bigger spring wouldnt make a chan...

Re: 440 chrysler in 1970 d100 shorbed? kinda urgent,
wow, if the motor is good, not cracked and rebuildable, get it!!! 440s are getting more and more rare. 79 was the last year for the awesome 440. The fact that its motor home might be in your favor. Many years motor homes had better cooling potential due to water jacket differences. Do some research ...

Re: clutch peddle not returning fast enough
I think the needle bearing at the peddle is my best bet for now. I bled the whold system under pressure, twice. There is NO air in this system. Due to the fact that a stronger spring at the slave cyl, doesnt make a difference, I bet my needle bearings are a little crusty. This will be my winter proj...
