Re: Retractable seat belt cover removal
Warm and pliable helps. I used a heat gun to soften it up. I tried a hair dryer first but that didn't work.

Front Shackle Lift
I want to lift the front of my 2 wheel drive, '69, about 2".
Has any one used shackles on the front spring eyes to accomplish this? If so, any issues with steering or handling?

318 to 360 mounts
I have searched and have not been able to find anything on this. I am replacing the 318 with a 360 in my '69. I know the internal/external balanced is a thing and I have that sorted. I have read that the 318 motor mounts don't match up exactly when used on the 360. I have also read that "a few washe...

Mate 360 to 727
I am installing a 360 LA in my '69 that previously had a 318. I know the 360 is externally balanced vs the internally balanced 318. I have the damper on the front of the 360 but no torque converter, plate, etc. Question is, what do I need to mate the 727 (24 spline) to the 360?

Rear Lowering Shackles
I would like to lower the rear end of my '69 and am considering shackles. I have not been able to find a solid answer on whether it will adversely affect my drive shaft angle. For those that have done it, can you shed some light? What is the max drop before problems start happening?

Re: Front and Rear Suspension OverHaul
I rebuilt the front end on my '69. New king pins, springs rearched, leaf added, spring bushings (all of this I took the axle and springs to a local shop to do), new u bolts, drag link, tie rod ends, new shocks, sway bar bushings. The one thing that was a bit of a challenge is the frame shackle bushi...

Re: radio's
The previous owner cut up the dash to put a cd player in with speakers in a "pod" on the tranny hump. I removed both, made a plate and mounted an AM radio were the hack job was, the AM radio does not work, I'll get one some day that does. I mounted a speaker in the dash under the grill, mounted a sm...

Got the regulator in yesterday from the link 68shorty posted and installed it this evening. Nice! Lights are good and bright, Ammeter is working like it should, no flicker in the lights.

Voltage Regulator ID
I've been having problems with flickering lights and things got worse one evening with more severe flickering, the voltage reg was also clicking, alot, ammeter is a little erratic. I noticed that the alternator was "moaning" and figured the bearings where on the way out that may have been contributi...

Loosing Pressure
1969 d100. Brakes will pump up and hold. Drive it but have to "double pump" to get the pressure up and brakes "hard" for the next stop. No leaks that I can see. Lines have been bled. I have the top bolt master cyl. A New master is inexpensive enough to replace but would rather not if I don't have to...

Re: Front & Rear light duty spring bushing size D100
Just the front spring eyes, 4 total. I have not messed with the rear springs yet. Once the old shackle bushing are pushed, heated, dug, chiseld out, it's .90 ID. Taking the energy susp bushing and turning them down so they fit works. As Jimmy mentioned to make sure when turning them down and taking,...

Re: Front & Rear light duty spring bushing size D100
It was standard 1' spring eye bushings on my '69 d100. The shackle bushing are a different story.
Check this one. I did the same thing on mine....have not got it on the ground but all looks to be in order.

Re-Installing Front Axle
I remember reading this but can't find it and apparently did not save the link. I have my re-arched springs in with new bushings and am going to re-hang my axle tommorow. I remember reading to snug everything up but not to tighten everything until the truck is back on the ground. Does this stand tru...

Removing Front Axle advise
I have everything disconnected and have the u bolt nuts broken loose and the axle supported. Before I back off the nuts and drop the axle is there any advise from those that have done it? Does anything need to be indexed? I'll pull the springs off after I drop the axle.

Re: Front Springs Re-Arch
I'm pulling the axle and springs out this weekend and off to the shop. Re-Arch and helper spring will be added. Since it's off, I'll go ahead and drop the axle off, and have then do the king pins. New shocks, bushings and tie rod ends. Long weekend end coming up so hopefully be able to get it all ba...
