Re: Transmission conundrum
The trans came last week, and I'm pretty happy with it. I opened it up and made an inspection, and there is little wear. It's a bit low on oil, so I heated up a bunch of clean motor oil and flushed it out before adding new gear oil. I took a page from the Bronco guys when I spec'd the gear oil. Sinc...

Re: Transmission conundrum
Ok, got my hands on an NP435 complete with parking brake. Should be here within a week. Guess I'm going to need a tunnel piece for my floor, huh?

Re: Transmission conundrum
No trans brake. Removed by PO to make room for crappy Mr. Gasket shifter. I found a compatible NP435 complete with trans brake on Ebay, but the seller has decided it's pick up only, and Cleveland is a long way from ENC. I also found an 833OD unit coupled to a slant in a local u pull it, and if I got...

Re: 2013 Dodge Dart. Like? or Dislike?
Ha! I know Neons weren't mitsus...no one has bad things to say about something like a 1976 Colt! Why don't we sit around and compare them to K cars or the cab-forward era? I've always been a Mopar guy, but the eighties and most of the nineties make me cringe...with the exception of a few bright mome...

Re: Anyone ever been to Hawaii (ideas needed)
Go to the big island. Stay in Hilo...there's a great little cheap hotel called the Dolphin where I always stay. Reasonable and quiet. It rains everyday around 3 in Hilo. Great botanical garden. Lava Tree national park is a short drive away, and going in that direction there are the black sand beache...

Transmission conundrum
I have a 62 Ute... Here's my problem...the PO installed a generic floor shifter, but in doing so, butchered the transmission. The parking drum assembly is gone, and the shifter plates were cut up and re-welded to work with the aftermarket shifter. I'd like to get my truck into a more functional stat...

Dang, evilram....is that a hacked up GS850 you're on? I remember those tanks...huge. I put one of those tanks on a honkawazukimaha based on a CM400T back in the day. Almost thought you were on my bike for a sec, until I saw the 4 pipes.

Re: all dodge junk yard
Hey PDQAUTO,
Is that the place on Batten Farm Road? Because I cruised through Pine Level last night, and a cop told me about ANOTHER place nearby.
Sounds like Pine Level/Selma really IS the promised land!

I make beer at a craft brewery.
Not as much glam or $$ as my old job (commercial diving and ROV's) but way more free beer.

Two bbl manifold
Ok gents... took the 1920 off the slant yesterday. I fear it is finished...leaks from several places, including the throttle shaft. A reman carb may or may not be any better, at $197 a pop plus shipping. I can be into a Weber for only two bucks more. Problem is, I'd need a 2 bbl manifold. There are ...

Aussiespeed has supercharger kits for the slant. I drool over them every chance I get.

Nice to see this installation...very nice, very fun. I'll be curious to see it finished.

shifter help
Hi everyone, I picked up a pickup. 62 D100 Utiline, 225. The PO stuck a different shifter (maybe different trans) in the truck. The column shifter is hanging loose, and there is a big stick coming out the floor way way back on the trans hump. In fact, it's so far back, I can't really move the seat c...
