Re: Looking for Advice on My Shop

If you can swing it , sheet your ceiling with white roofing tin. it will go up fast and really improve your lighting. Nothing worse than having a nice shop with nice lights and still having to use a flashlight all the time. I worked in a truck shop for awhile that had poor lighting , it's very unhan...

Re: '68 Diesel conversion

I think the only difference is the width of the frame channel. My 91 diesel is 6 inches , in 91 1/2 they changed them to 8. Before 91 1/2 you might find 6 , 7 1/2 or 8 inch frames depending on the application. A 6 inch frame will do you good if your going to use it normally and not haul over weight ...

Re: Paint

Thanks guys. My dad had a truck that we painted with por15 and it peeled as well. They advertise that it goes over rust but it's gotta be tight rust. They recommend sand blasting first which we did not do.

Wow Terry, 5.5 miles to the gallon , I hope my truck gets better than that when I get it done. What makes it so bad on gas? :thinking Low gears?

Paint

Just wondering what kind of two stage paint brands you guys recommend. What do you think of Transtar? Also What kind of rust inhibiting paint for the frame and undercarriage. Are Masterseries Coatings any good?

Thanks , Randy

Re: truck pictures

If your pictures are downloaded onto your pc then you can go to pictures , then to the folder you want , then the picture you want , then click on edit , organize and share, then click on the picture you want again , then click on properties and finally click on resize. It's not nearly as complicate...

Seat belts

I have no idea what seat belts my 68 should have. When I got it they were all messed up and unmatching. I would like to get a correct set if I can. Any info or pics would be great.

Thanks a lot , Randy

Re: Thinking about a 65 crew cab w200

If you can get it for scrap price , bring it home and then sell the parts to us. Then you can make a little extra money to put towards the truck you want.

Re: Thinking about a 65 crew cab w200

Finding a decent cab is always a challange but most likely you'll find one out west. The trouble is getting them back home. Post some pics and get some opinions on the cab you have.

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs

It may have been mentioned but in the Rambo movie First Blood you can just see one parked on the street for a couple of seconds when he's escaping the police barracks on a motorcycle.

Re: Epoxy primer issue suggestions please!

I shouldn't be too much of a problem for you because you'll still have to rough sand , then do your filler work and then spray your high build or sandable primer. So you have a lot of steps that will cover your rough looking epoxy. Epoxy is a great sealer and very tough so it's good that your using ...

Re: Mirror Posts...Going Price

An old auto parts guy I knew would always say "did you ever try to make one of those?" every time we'd complain about something being priced too high. I think he was right. You can't just go to the store and pick those up whenever you want , so that makes them worth something. :2cents Randy

Call vintage power wagons. You"ll pay more but you'll get the right parts. They also have 14" brake shoes if you need them.
