Re: NP435 and late model starter

Local rebuilder wants $175 to rebuild the one that was on the truck. Only real problem with mine was that the armature wouldn't throw out the gear most of the time. Builder wouldn't just fix what was not working, would only do a full rebuild. Fortunately I'm "in good" with a guy at O'Reilly Auto Par...

Re: NP435 and late model starter

Dammit. Anyone happen to have a good part number for the ring gear eating monstrosity? Aftermarket preferably.

NP435 and late model starter

I've heard, and read, that late model mini starters will fit damned near ALL Mopar transmissions. I've got a 1965 Dodge D200 crew cab with a slant 6 and NP435 and I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to use a mini, or am I doomed to use the big assed tin can starter?

Late Model Seats?

Some of you may remember me from a couple years ago when I built my hot rod '65 D200 crew cab. As luck would have it, I've purchased ANOTHER 1965 D200 crew cab. This time it's a former Air Force truck instead of a former Army truck, but other than the original color, they were both identical when pu...

Some of you have seen my crew cab before, some have not. I'll try posting some before and after pix.

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs

I haven't been here in ages, so I can't remember if I've posted this before. My little crew cab is going to be in the new Danny Trejo movie "Machete Kills" that's hitting the screens on October 11. My '65 Valiant is also making an appearance in the film. The truck has since been painted, but still s...

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs

My crew cab, and my Valiant, are both going to be in the upcoming Danny Trejo movie "Machete Kills". The crew is in one of the final scenes called the "Chop Shop" and the Valiant is in some random scene at a diner....

Re: Hot Rod Crew Cab

Not really a great deal to update on, but there have been some developments as of late. We've been fortunate enough to take some several trophies and medals from local shows, and have gotten the word that the truck is going to be in a future issue of Rat Rod Magazine....in what capacity I have no id...

Re: Hot Rod Crew Cab

Michael G, Sold that already. Only have a few remaining stray parts for the build, most everything is gone. I've got a good bench seat, good small rear window, wonky tail gate, slant 6 NP435 bellhousing and starter, slant 6 833 4 speed bellhousing and starter, slant 6 flywheel and clutch, an extra h...

Re: Hot Rod Crew Cab

What a great time! Roundup was AWESOME this year. For me it was mainly because the crew cab made it's debut. THe photoshoot for Rat Rod Magazine went well, let's hope it actually makes it to the mag. The Congress cruise was a blast, but I rarely got outta first gear. The crew cab performed almost fl...

Re: Hot Rod Crew Cab

Hey Crusty.....as for the Peel N Seal it was an easy install. Only did one layer, but I have alot extra and thing I'm going to do a second layer on the driver front and passenger front. The shifter is a B&M, not sure but I think it's called a Megashifter. I've only put about 100 miles on the truck s...

Axle length question

I've got an 8 3/4 SureGrip 3.91 rear end that has the slines on the ddriver axle 'buggered' up from the previous owner, this is from a 1965 D100. Found an axle from a '73 Dodge Adventurer with an 8 3/4 rear, same spline count. Wondering if there is a overall length difference in these two axles. Her...

Re: 1965 D200 Crew Cab

Lots of stuff to update you guys on with the crew cab. Finally got my trans back from the builder after 6 weeks, installation went well enough. Had a local driveshaft builder shorten the original front half of the driveshaft by about 10 inches and install a 727 yoke on it, didn't have to do ANYTHING...

Exhaust bolts thru coolant passages?

Odd question, but on the big block heads do the exhaust bolts pass thru a coolant passage? Fired up my 1965 413 for the first time since the rebuild today and noticed coolant coming out of where I'd forgotten to install an exhaust bolt. I promptly installed the bolt and the coolant stopped flowing o...

Re: Hot Rod Crew Cab

Wall-E? Dunno what that is... I've got an update for y'all, but not a huge one. FINALLY got my trans back from the builder last night at 8PM, less the speedo gear drive (big old empty hole) and shift lever. Builder claims it wasn't there when I dropped it off, 6 frikkin' weeks ago. Anyhoo, I'm on th...
