Re: changing ammeter to voltmeter

Here is another thread that shows and explains the detail of the back of the cluster. http://www.sweptline.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=40668&p=290106&hilit=fuel+gauge+diagram#p290106 On mine the 12 v comes in and feeds the fuel gauge on the "S" the terminal at the top of the fuel gauge feeds you...

Re: changing ammeter to voltmeter

gauges do not run on 12 volt. You will burn them up. I thought the early trucks draw voltage right off the accessory power. On my 65 there is no regulator like on my Fury... I'm so sorry if my memory has misled you "hmaynord", Powerwagon54 has tons more experience with these than I do. Just looking...

Re: changing ammeter to voltmeter

I believe that is correct. It's been a while since I replaced my amp with a volt. I did fuse all my gauges through the fuse block too since I added a couple more to my truck. I used the link below to start on my conversion the 1st time then later put in more relays for high amp circuits. http://www....

Re: changing ammeter to voltmeter

That is not a heatsink. It is a buss-bar. It passes power to the gauges and I assume there are other blades to connect other gauges.

Re: Fuel and coolant guage connected?

Here is what I did in my Fury when it went out...Works great and no issues. If you can solder you can do this. It is a little different in the trucks but the concept is the same.

Re: Newer 18 -20 Ram 2500 Wheels on my 65 D200

This is a 20x9 with 285 50 20. good luck! Those are nice looking...I'm liking the looks of a 20" on our trucks. I landed a set of the 20" from a 2014 2500 and the backspacing is off but I plan on running spacers to correct the issue. Actually they are more of adapters that bolt onto the hub face th...

Re: carb recommendation?

Wow....nice find on the 4bbl Poly intake. Those go for $400 and up on Ebay or swap meets. When I put mine on I ran an Edelbrock 1406 which is a 600 cfm. I live at 6000 feet and needed a little more air than at sea level. If you are a Edelbrock guy you may want to look at the 500cfm version which is ...

Re: brake pads falling out

Just a thought I have... Back a few years ago we were doing a Toyota truck caliper conversion on my son's Datsun 240z and I put the calipers on the wrong side. The bleeder port was on the bottom and should be at the top of the caliper. That caused him similar issues until I put them on correctly...J...

I have thought about steel wheels but steel wheels that are 17" or larger are hard to find used or even for a reasonable price. Here is how the truck looks now and some wheels I have found that might look pretty good. http://i808.photobucket.com/albums/zz5/mguzinski/65%20D200%20GJ/IMG_20130729_08033...

Newer 18 -20 Ram 2500 Wheels on my 65 D200

Hey all, Been a while since I've worked on my truck. The new babies and all I have just so little time. I have a 65 D200 and need new wheels and tires. I am looking to see if anyone has used any of the 2011-2016 wheels on their trucks. Anyone with pictures or technical information please post. I hav...

Re: Original AM radio conversion to AM/FM Bluetooth ipod

I bought 2 boards from Aurora a while back for development and so far they work really well in the early Sweptline radios. The boards are very compact and are truly a work of art! On these boards you can hang amps off them or run directly. The bluetooth is a great new feature as well. From Aurora yo...

Mirror Posts...Going Price

Hey guys, What is the going rate for the single stem mirror posts these days per set? I have seen some ridiculous prices on Ebay for a single mirror and stem for $285 but what are the real prices like? I have a set and a guy locally wants to buy them. Want to give him a fair price but don't want to ...

Re: tires

Ford 16" steel wheels from a van or pickup will work as well. I'm not clear on the years but I think through the 70s and 80s will have the correct offset stud spacing and a little larger center bore. I think the width is 6 or 6.5. That is what I used on mine until I did the Scarebird conversion, aft...

Re: Model 86 Heater Box to Cab Foam?

I went to HD or Lowes and got weather stripping foam tape and then put foil tape on the inside where the cab lip comes into it so it's not sticky. Works pretty well.
