to date it has a new starter I pulled carb apart and cleaned it well with new gaskets and set the float, also new pumper. i had a timing chain jump a tooth. I replace the timing set. made sure everything was lined up correct. i will add,,,when it is cold it starts but with a lot of pumping of the ga...

I was going to do the Pertronix upgrade but make sure distributor bearings are Good. my dist. was shot so" I think" :banghead which is easier was to take a half day off work, go the the last U Pull yard I know of, Ferrell's in Mt Vernon WA. found one last Mopar Pickup, 80's salvaged the 5 prong plug...

from everything i have heard , the /6 is your best bet for fuel millage . v-8 have 2 more cylinders to fill with gas...get your slant tuned up.. :2cents :2cents go too slant 6 web. they are great for info ...
I personally use a Gold Wing for fuel millage ..or a cheep... gas get-r car

I used to work on the local carb rebuild guru's shop heater..no one knows where to find the guy now.. .I remember him telling me that a lot of good carbs were thrown away due to leaks. he used some sort of epoxy...look on line and see. they will tell you what they hold up too....my 85 chev 4 door tr...

WELL Guys and Gals out there in swept-land. I Got-R-Done..once gas hit the carb it took right off..I left it warm up a bit and Nailed the gas peddle and vroom vroom... runs great. I still have to replace the front brake cylinders and fix some wiring issues ..but today I'm putting "REX" back to work ...

I found my 2 barrel 2290 carb to be way out of adjustment from factory settings. the power valve was set for High altitude. Plus, the pumper valve was set to shortest setting. as my luck has it ! I installed the newly adjusted carb on truck...went to start it and my Rebuilt started failed!!!!!!! so ...

WOW I took a look at it and :study :idea the kit comes with two different base gaskets..in which BOTH ARE OBLONG type gaskets..thick and thin gasket that's it :ban...

I am having the same problem! :banghead I have been on line for hours looking up info on those ? Simple ? little carbs.?.?.I am going to try the oblong base gasket...I had one on before but Mech at work said to use the one that fit bottom of carb...I called a local carb re-builder and HE said to use...

just replaced my starter..turned over too slow. 85 bucks to rebuild it w/3 yr warrenty.
oh and OUCH !!!
got stiches in elbow from head bolts on a Bronco my co pay was also $35.00

well, I found a local Les Shwab who will deal with my split rims. they do big rig tires..they want to see them 1st. they said there are a couple of differant styles; one they will do,one they wont. tires are going to be clost too a grand :pale

I have found , up here in Whatcom County. that Union 76 Stations are the only ones where you can find Regular GAS. it sure is nicer on small carbs than Methanol. I get 4 MPG better in my old gold wing. more power also. I am fighting carb problems also..had a worn out carter 2290 I put on the 2245 fr...
