413 Timing Question

Am I understanding this correctly? My timing chain is bad? :thinking When I have a timing light on the balancer at an idle I can read the mark clearly cause it's in the same range (within 2 degrees) :Thumbsup But when I rev up to 2500-3000 the mark is all over the place (bounces 30-40 degrees) and I...

I called the 800 number on their web site and a recording indicated
they are closed due to a death in the family and are no longer taking
new orders but are processing and completing current/open tickets.

But nothing about if/when they will resume operations?

I did finally get in touch with my guy Monday that rebuilt the carb and yes it was already out of warranty :banghead but he did offer to exchange the float out for a new one no charge! :clap since this was/is a common issue with the plastic floats. once it comes in I hope to have her back on the roa...

I'm planning on replacing them both! Summit has Brass floats for $9.95 and two different plastic floats, one at $13.95 and the other at $23.95 not sure as to the difference in the plastic one's. :study My first step is to get ahold of the guy who rebuilt it (hoping he's back at his shop/work Monday)...

That was my intent, however we have had bad weather since Monday
evening and the roads have been iced over every since Tuesday morning
and there has been no answer at his shop!

The carb is (used) but new to me, I purchased it from the company that I use on all my carb work here in TX. He has rebuilt 3 other carbs for me and they all were setup pretty much dead on when installed. I'm guessing trash in the system too but wanted other input before I tear into a freshly rebuil...
