Re: 1964 d300 np435 question
I'm running a slant six with an NP435 in my 61 short bed half ton. It all fits together fine.
The rear mounts, which are on the yoke, hook up to the bell housing.
Hope that helps.

As a fellow 61 D100 utiline owner, I love that truck.
Don't change anything about it.

pinion bearing race
I have a 61 D100, and I want to replace the pinion bearing and the race. What is the best way to get the bearing race out?
Do I use a puller or do I have to take the differential out and punch it out?
Does it go out the front or the back?
Thanks for any help.

Smokey in a Swepty
I hope everyone enjoys this photo of Smokey (and Mrs. Bear?) riding in Swepty. I didn't take the photo, but found it on Twitter. There was no indication of its origin.

That is a nice looking pickup. Were those people getting married in the back of your truck?

Updated photo of the 61
Here is a photo of the 1961 D100 after more than four years of work.
It still has a ways to go, but at least it is somewhat socially acceptable.

Re: pinion yoke stuck
Yes.... It does come off. You might try shooting a bit of rust eater on the spline area. Tap the yoke lightly with a ball peen hammer and repeat the process a couple of times. Hook up a decent puller and tighten it up. Keep soaking that area, tapping lightly with a hammer, turning the puller tighte...

pinion yoke stuck
Trying to fix a leaky pinion shaft seal on my 61 D100. Struggled to get the nut off, but now I can't get the yoke off. Broke one cheapo puller and stripped the threads on another. Does that thing even come off? Any ideas on how to get the yoke off?
Thank you.
Thank you.
