Shop Press?

Any recommendations for a decent shop press? It's time for me to take the plunge. It'll see occasional use, mainly for bearing work. Thanks in advance for any help/opinions! Derek.

Re: RESERVE TANK QUESTION

I had a 60's era ford with the same switch. When the switch was in the middle it was always the main tank, and left or right pointing were for both reserve tanks. Once your more familiar with your truck, switching tanks while running down the road will become more comfortable for you. Good luck! Der...

Re: just started my own company

Welcome to the landscape business!! I've owned my own landscape company for 20 years this season, and what a wild ride it has been! :pale I started out soon after I graduated from college doing exactly what you are doing now, misc. maintenance accounts and cleanups. That type of work will work for y...

Re: Painted my wheels black and....

Nice truck!! I just painted my wheels black as well. I've got a 70 W300 that needs a little more work before I can start climbing hills, but your pictures have given me new inspiration to get this truck into running condition. Thanks, Derek. :salut

Bucket seats?

I was curious about ballpark prices on a set of bucket seats. I've got a 70 W300 that I'm working on, and I'm getting ready to take the original bench seat out for repair. If the cost wasn't astronomical I might put some bucket seats back in. I'd love to put some in like I have in my 99 Ram, but wha...

1970 W300 dash stickers?

I have what might be a strange request, but I figured that I'd give it a try. I just recently purchased a W300 that I'm gradually starting to clean up, and get going mechanically. Having a lot of fun working on the truck, and learning from the posts on this site. I was wondering if any of you had pi...

W300 manuals

I just purchased a 1970 W300 and was wondering if there was a source for manuals. I'd like to find an owners manual, and maybe a tech. manual as well. Reprints would be great, and maybe that's all that is out there!? I appreciate any help! Derek.

Re: Wheels/Rims Pic Thread Request

Great suggestion! I'm a newbie myself and a thread like that would be incredibly helpful. The galleries are great for ideas, but unless it's mentioned the size of the wheel and tire is tough to discern. Thanks, Derek.

W300 split rims

Just acquired my first powerwagon, a 1970 W300 dually. The truck has the original split rims on the front. My question for you guys that have been at this for awhile is should I plan on getting some replacement rims? I've heard lots of stories regarding the horrors of split rims, and my impression i...

W500 PTO

I'm currently shopping around for a W500 powerwagon, and was curious about how difficult it is to find a PTO for these trucks. Is this a wrecking yard find, or are they plentiful enough to come up on forums like this one periodically? A few of the trucks I've looked at don't have PTO's, and I would ...

Re: Powerwagon W500

John, I appreciate the barb at the end of your last post. Sounds like we might have a few disagreements regarding our newer trucks! I'm sure you know that the truck argument is never ending. Truck opinions can end friendships. It's been close with a few of my buddies over the years!! Maybe we can ta...

Re: Powerwagon W500

By the time I get done shopping $12000 may not be that bad for a truck in good shape!! I've been researching older cab/chassis trucks for about 6 months, and finally settled on Dodge because they're tough as nails, and I have a 99 2500 cummins that I absolutely love. I've heard that some of these tr...
