Re: warm up questions

My 65 valiant was cold blooded, would stall in the middle of intersections during morning rush traffic on cold ,foggy mornings as if on purpose. I moved the timing a little.just a hair and it improved a lot.Hope it helps.

I go back and forth from drive to reverse till I hear a clunk noise that it's broken free. I drive the truck a couple of days, park it and a few days later when I get in it to drive it agai...

Re: Another split rim "widow maker" problem question

Somebody suggested changing the front wheel hubs and changing the rear axle for a modern one. That would probably wouldn't be cheap and also time consuming, maybe a headache and then some.

Re: You gotta love those after-market additions

Use a test light to see if there is any power going to it or on the wire that is not connected to the alt. If not,I would cut the wires ad if anything does go wrong you can always re connect them. Good luck.

fusible link

I removed a fusible link wire from a 70s chevy at the junkyard and installed it in my 64 dodge. The chevy was totally striped and the fusible link was just there eazy to yank off. It offers more protection for pre 1965 trucks against vehicle fire cause of elecrtrical short.

16 inch wheels for dodge 61-70 sweptline trucks

If you want to upgrade your truck to 16 inch wheels and tires, the wheels from a 1999-2003 lincoln towncar-mercury grand marquis or ford crown victoria are a direct bolt on. 16 inch tires are much easier to find than 15 in. these days. You can find these in black steel or alloy.
