Re: Help get the fenders off!

I would either get an old polaroid or a digital camera and take pictures of how things are now before total disassembly, hell i'm 28 and can't remember stuff that well.

Re: Windshield

A couple years back I checked with Bloomington city Glass here in south central Indiana and they told me about $300.00, but something about it is made in a different quality like the newer windsheilds, i did buy a new windsheild gasket through Steel rubber products, i copped out and found a used win...

Re: removing king pins

before you install your kingpins, it is a good idea to lube the pin and check how it fits in the axle, i have rebuilt truck suspensions and in our truck shop we have ran into older trucks that have kingpins bad enough the axle is ruint/or have to bushing the axle, sorry for responding so late haven'...

Re: I get a grinding sensation when I turn right

Your brake shoes should not be causing any problem when you are turning for they move with your spindle,if they were your bearings would have movement, ie your hub/drum moving seperate from the spindle which isn't a good thing, i would slide under the truck and have a strong person get in and turn y...

Re: ALIGNMENT: slightly bent TRACK BAR -- stripped tie rod end??

I do not know about bracing the cross tube, and how expensive would taps of the size of the tierod ends cost and getting the right thread pitch, i would check with a company called SPEEDWAY MOTORS, they deal with a lot of straight axle stuff, racing and hotrod stuff as well, lot of what i've seen wi...

Re: Kingpins, nylon bushings

I work in a truck shop, (International Dealership), I have personally installed kingpin bushings, we use bushing drivers and hammers, have not had too much trouble. Just make sure they are straight! I would personally stay away from nylon bushings, I like brass, they are not that hard to ream and adj...

Re: ALIGNMENT: slightly bent TRACK BAR -- stripped tie rod end??

Hello, as a part time alignment technician for large trucks, i would try to replace the tierod and cross tube pipe, if possible? I've found with old tierods, to adjust them is a bear for you can not break them loose, you end up putting a torch to them and giant pipe wrenches to turn them, and I woul...

Power steering on nfury8's truck?

I realize this is probably a worn out subject but, I was looking at the article "Headers,,,,again?" Tues, June 16, 2009, and enjoying the argument, but I noticed on the picture of nfury8's comment and it has a power steering unit that I find interesting, I was curious what the set up was, I have a 6...

Re: D300 Disk Brake Conversion: Worth It?

I haven't checked in a while, but there was a company called "AAJ Brakes" you can google it, thats how i found it, he showed a kit for the D-100's, but i also remeber seeing something about the D-200's, I did actually call and talk to him, he acted as he worked with a lot of bigger trucks, he seemed...
