Re: No spark/ballast resitor/ coil on 65 D100, need advice.
I've got another question; With a new ballast resistor, I'm seeing 13v at the batt. posts and 12v at the coil positive supply at key on position. Seems to me that dropping to 12v isn't much help to the coil. If 4-6v is what I should be seeing, what do you think is going on? Thanks Remember, If your...

Re: 61-67 hood on 70 front clip?
It should fit, you may have to replace the hood latch on your rad support though. You'll also have the raised outer edges on the front lower lip which may look a bit funky with a 68-up grille. If you want the early hood look with a late grille your best bet is a 68 hood as it has a straight front li...

Re: Clutch pedal is sticking on the way up
You have a hydraulic setup so there won't be a z-bar (that's for the mechanical setups). Good idea to check the pivot on your pedal, its right under your dash and easy enough to get at. Next time it sticks pull over and climb under your truck and check your clutch fork. If it's under pressure your p...

Re: i know this is a dumb idea.....but
When I replaced the cab on my W100 i took the cutoff wheel to the old one just to see how it would look chopped, I didn't like the look. The driprail on the cab is integral to the look and the cab just didn't look right without that body line.

Re: Vibration Dampener
Pull a spark plug and feed a bunch of rope down the hole, then turn engine over until the piston is squeezing rope into head and she stops turning. Alternatively if it's a manual trans, put it in top gear and set the parking brake TIGHTLY! Next take your socket and a breaker bar (a piece of pipe to ...

What kind of problems are you having? You're describing the AIS motor (controls idle speed) which can seize up.TedWitt wrote:seems there is a hole or port that sometimes gets stopped up and needs cleaned. I'll look into it, thanks.
Check over at allpar.com, there's lots of EFI stuff to read through.

Re: Nut shells
Keep an eye on your compressor's temperature, 18-25 cfm is a lot of air at 90 psi.
I'd reccommend using a smaller nozzle on the blaster if you can, it'll make the work slower but you'll be able to keep the pressure up without working the compressor to death.

Re: MAF sensor
We mainly play with the '61 to'71 Dodge trucks around here so I don't know how much help you'll get. I do know that Mopar's fuel injection systems are "speed density" based and use a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor, I doubt that there';s a mass air sensor in there anywhere. Generally mass ai...

This is one of the top electrical questions on the forum. Regulator is in the fuel gauge, somwhere along the way you've likely bypassed it. Re: fuel and temp gage
The voltage regulator is built into the fuel gauge, yours has failed. New gauge time and quick, otherwise you'll burn the temp and oil gauges seeing as they're getting 12 volts instead of 5
There's several threads about this in the electrical section.

Re: Intake Question
Easiest way to tell an A318 from an LA318 is by looking at the valve covers. If yours have 4 ripples on the outside of the valve cover (exhaust side) you've got an A318 LA 318 valve covers are straight on that edge. http://1962to1965mopar.ornocar.org/images/ml-poly318-house-guest.jpg A 318 http://sp...

Re: Transfer Case Shift Pattern help needed!
You should have an NP201 in your truck. Shift pattern is really simple: the front lever is your high/low range lever and the rear is 2wd/4wd. Front: high neutral low Rear: 2WD 4WD they should be adjusted so that when you shift into neutral with the front lever it just touches the rear lever and push...

Re: Inexpensive lift?
I'm usually not a fan of Body lifts because they do nothing to help with suspension travel and articulation. BUT If all you're looking for is a slightly higher stance on a 2wd truck, I'd say why not. Saves all the headaches wiith steering geometry since there's very little in the aftermarket for us ...

Re: duramax turbo on 225 6-cyl
Turbo slant 6? Been there, they're fun! A basic draw-through setup is easy enough to do. You need to fabricate a carburetor to Turbo inlet, a turbo to intake manifold tube (as short as possible to minimize fuel pooling), exhaust manifold to turbo pipe and plumb the water and oil lines. I'm assuming ...

Re: 5 speed manual transmissions
Note: There are 2 variants of the np540. one is the usual type with a 1 to 1 fourth gear and an OD 5th and the other type is called a "short 4th" where 5th gear is 1 to 1 and there's no overdrive. I found 1 of these in a D700 and was planning to use it in my w100 until i found out it was the short 4...

Re: Diff year alternators?
If original appearance isn't a problem, a late model(89 on) nippondenso alternator will work . puts out 100 amps, is very compact, mounts basically the same and uses easy to swap bolt-on pulley. It is a little deeper than our stock unit. Another piece of MoWisdom from E-Berg at Mopar Action! June 20...

Re: "U" shaped hole-of-black-despair
The "U" shaped pocket was cast into the LA heads to prevent cracking of the exhaust crossover passage which is in the center of the U. It is simply an empty space not connected to the water jacket or the exhaust ports. The Intake manifold doesn't even cover the "U" so it's not uncommon for it to col...
