Re: 1971 D200 Conversion W200
I have a factory '71 W300 crew cab that Aaron Arnold once "owned" but never had in his possession, so I'm sure they existed. How many is another story however? Doug

Re: Removing 318 from 1963 W100
I just did this on a '65 and a '67 W-100. The only way is to unbolt the trans from the clutch housing and pull the engine with the clutch and housing still attached to the engine, because as you have experienced, there's no way to get the clutch out of the way to access the flywheel bolts, at least ...

Re: Lighting issue
Does your front marker lights stay on when your headlights are on? If so, I would say that the running light circuits for the front and rear are reversed on the connection to the headlight switch. If not, then I would suspect the headlight switch itself. Doug

No pictures, but definitely what my late '65 looks like. I will look at my '71, but I would bet it's the same. Doug

The top bracket is the mount for the transfer case levers for the twin stick cases, and the lower 2 are the pillow block bearing brackets for the pto shaft ,for the front mounted winch. Doug

Springs are definitely not factory W-200, and the bracket is for a spare tire carrier. On those springs, I'd say all the square cut leaves were added to the original tapered leaves. Doug

Re: Transmission help: rebuild vs buy used/new
I may have missed this question and answer, but does it have enough tranny fluid in it? If you haven't checked it, do you know that the engine should be running with the selector in neutral? Was it running / working when you got the truck, or has it been sitting? If it's been sitting, it could be th...

Don't rule out the timing chain? I would think that 90 psi cranking would be enough to start and run? Compression would read low across the board if timing is off across the board, I would think? Good luck with that non-compression fired power plant! Doug

Doug, I assume you plan on this replacing the king pin cap on the passenger side, and being a direct bolt on? I'd be interested in this, as I just picked up a '76 W-600 with a Dana 70 front. Keep us posted. Thanks Doug

Re: 440 Pistons
I think it's just a reference mark so that the pistons are put in the block correctly. There would be instructions stating to put the letter towards the front of the block, in other words. .010, .020, .030, etc. would indicate amount of overbore.
