np435 to 46rh swap

I have searched the site for information on the 46rh transmission and found a number of postings almost exclusively swapping the 46RH for a 727.

I have a 1964 D100 Town Wagon with a 318 poly and a np435. Does anyone have in o experience this swap, or can direct me to a source of info.

Thanks
Mike

Re: Restoration!

I did a power booster upgrade based on the Ugly Truckling design in 2009 and by then the kit was no longer available, but The Ugly Truckling site still had the instructions posted. I did a write-up on my installation and it is posted the Technical Write-Ups section of this site http://www.sweptline....

Re: Fender Pentastar emblem placement

The Pentastar was created in 1962 and was first placed on the passenger side (right side for left hand drive and left side for of right hand drive)of cars partway through the 1963 production year. The link is to the history of the Pentastar.. The first time a Pentastar shows up in a truck brochure i...

Re: sunvisor brackets

It is an 1/2 inch oval head self tapping bolt (notice the slot and taper on the bottom half of the threads), I'm not sure of the exact size, it is larger than a #10 and smaller than a 1/4 inch bolt. Maybe a #12??
Hope this helps you get closer to finding what you need

Re: One More CPP Steering Problem

Well the problem with steering sticking then suddenly breaking free has been resolved. I called CPP and they thought it was most likely due to the steering box input shaft binding. After loosening the steering column mount at the firewall and realigning the steering column to the steering box input ...

One More CPP Steering Problem

I just had a CPP power steering system installed on my 64 D100 Town Wagon. I used all CPP parts, box, pump, hoses and brackets. All the parts seem to fit OK and with no leaks, the belt is tight and there is no visible air in the fluid. When the front wheels are off the ground it steers with just one...

Adding Power Steering with A/C

Does anyone have a truck that has A/C and power steering? I have a 1964 D100 Town Wagon with 318 Poly and NP435. The truck currently has A/C and I want to add CPP power Steering to it. I have purchased most of the parts, but I’m trying to figure out the best way to route the belts for the power stee...

Re: Chrysler decal

To answer the questions about the single Pentstar fender badge, it was placed low on the passenger side so that when the car was parked it would be seen by people walking.
Right hand drive vehicles (ie Australia) had the badge on the left fender.

Sweptline in Collectible Automobile Magazine

I received an envelope in the mail yesterday with a copy of Collectible Automobile, this is not a magazine I subscribe to so was not sure why it was sent to me. When I opened it up there is an 11 page feature article on the 61-71 light duty Dodge trucks. In the article there is a sidebar article on ...

Re: Banging noises mystery

I did do this on both of my 64's. The '64 Town Wagon I switched from a 3.91 sure grip to a 2.94 open (not sure of the year of the donor) on the '64 Town Panel I switched from a 3.91 open to a 3.23 open from a 72 D100. They both have several thousand miles on them with no issues.

Re: Banging noises mystery

I just read what i posted and realized that 1964 trucks have tapered axles BUT have the the newer style center chunk and 63 and older axles can not use 64-newer chunks.

Re: Banging noises mystery

Working with a pre-65 axle is a little harder than the newer versions but if you have a good axle puller it can be done. I have ’64 Town Wagon and a ’64 Town Panel and have swapped out the center chunks with 65-newer chunks and done rear brakes jobs on both. Any year center chunk from a car or truck...

Re: 71 D100 318

I would agree that a 500 cfm is a better choice for a stock 318, I have a 600 on my 318 Poly mounted to a factory (mid 50's car) intake and it ran to rich, had to swap out the metering rods and it works well now, I have an LA318 with the 500 cfm on a Holley intake, it worked great out of the box
