Re: In todays USA TODAY, Swepty carnage

It does look like a painting, even more so on my iPad. Coincidentally, I saw on the news clip of the flooding disaster in WVA, an overturned Trans Am GTA (another car near and dear to my heart) which I posted on LS1.com. Not a good month for many people. And don't get me started on Brexit...

In todays USA TODAY, Swepty carnage

Ouch! This hurts us all. Swepty is obvious, but is that an older Dodge in the background, too?

Re: 1965 D100 dash shifter

I converted mine. All you need is a welder and some time. If I can do it... I think there are pics in my build thread. If not, you can email me for some.

My "eccentic" friend has a shadow and an iroc with under 2000 miles on them. Theyre in his moms basement!
I had an 83 nissan pulsar nx turbo, loved it. I love 80's cars! Am I weird, or what?

Re: to 440 or not to 440

Just found out I can get my hands on a winnebago 440 and tranny for 300 bucks. 43000 miles been covered and still runs out good. 70 something model. I know it will need changes to varies parts to make it work in the truck. I guess im just wondering if anyone has done it and how big of a PITA was it...

Re: scarebird swap issue

No hard feelings here, 64d100. You're the only person I've seen on here question whether the conversion was worth it, and rightfully so. I wouldnt put discs on a straight axle unless I was towing/hauling alot or lived in the mountains. I would convert to a dual master cylinder, tho. Oddly, I've seen...

Chris, did your drums have any country of mfg. stamped anywhere? I dont recall anything on mine. I wouldnt doubt the same facility mfg.s for delco, raybestos, and whoever else....

Re: scarebird swap issue

I dont see how you can make the conversion work without an adjustable proportioning valve. I had to apply decreasing amounts of pressure to the rears in many small increments before getting a nice balance. Wilwood makes a good one for about $60. See my build thread for pics. Best of luck.

Re: 11X2 REAR BRAKE DRUMS

No John it does not. The Hollander interchange only shows 11 x 2 drum fits from 65-71 D100 and 65-74 Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler full size cars with 11 x 2 brakes. No finned drums were used until 76 according to my Hollander. I to am skeptical on the offset of the drum. I understand that it turns free...

Ha! I was applying for insurance from Hagerty when I casually mentioned taking the truck to Home Depot. That stopped the conversation. No coverage. :moom
Nice not having trouble finding our trucks in the herd in a parking lot.
