Re: What do you think it's worth?
It really depends on what you want in the end. For me the paint, body condition, engine, trans and shortbed are really strong features. It will need some money put into it but the basics are strong. If you really want a swb, like the big block and 4 speed and appreciate the body condition I wouldn't...

Re: NP435 OR NOT
First gear is really low in the 435 and not usually needed with a 440's torque. How big of a tire are you going to run? With the 4.10's you could run a 38 inch tire with good highway manners with the 440.

Another possibility is the factory issued hood scoops used on the 69 "Cuda 340" and "Cuda 383".

White Hat special. Blue engines in 70-71. I think red engines in 68 and probably blue in 69 but not absolutely sure.

Re: Fargo tailgate did I overpay?
Rusted out, how is the back of it and is it bowed? I wouldn't have paid that much. I've offered just the Fargo middle section (cut the spot welds) with no interest so I don't bother even looking for them anymore.

Re: What's the answer.
Yup the rounds were standard on the el cheapo model. I'm not sure which trim level the quads were standard but most likely Adventurer. My factory literature is packed away somewhere, I'll see if I can find it. I kind of think the quads were a separate option on the Custom too if you wished to order ...

It's a lot of welding. Charactor line on a sweptline would make it even more work.

Re: Let's talk 70-71 383 4bbl air cleaners
It should look like that orange top one but with dual snorkles. 71 dual snorkle would have the breather hose going to directly to the driver's side snorkle (like the one in the photo but on the driver's side) and the other end of the breather going to the breather which would be correctly mounted on...

Re: 69 D200 / 440 build and install
Those MH 727's usually have good guts in them such as 4 pin planetaries etc. If you switch to a long tailshaft try to keep the MH guts if you can. You will have to make sure the splines on the longer tailshaft are the same as the short tailshaft splines. 76 440 will have unleaded heads on it and a p...

I disagree somewhat. I've had an interest in these trucks since 1961 and you don't see a lot of factory automatic W's at all.

Check out Vegas Rat Rods in Los Vegas, I am not into Rat Rods at all but their shop has a great display and I was impressed with the workmanship.

Re: Can't get carrier out of 44F
They are slightly preloaded. What works best for me is to wrap a chain around the diff. then I put a jackall against the front of the housing and hook the chain with the jackall. Then I jack it out. Hopefully you can visualize that. It works best with a helper to hold the foot of the jackall and cat...

Yes: It should be quite easy to get it back in place. Just be gentle so you don't nick anything.
