I have a 1406 and like it. There's a little bog as the secondaries open when cold, but that's about it.

Are you sure you have all the bolts out?

Usually you can pry on the front and back, gently, under the ends of the manifold. Most times there is enough space to get a smallish prybar in there.

Kickdown doesn't have anything to do with reverse. Look for reverse band screw in the pan, they do come out. Reverse servo either seal bad, missing snap ring or cocked in the bore. Not sure, the box and frame bracket are done, they just needed someone to work on the fitment. I've been back and forth to their shop 5 or 6 times bringing parts and measurements to get it all working and it's almost done. They are still having some bent pitman arms made.
