Re: Power assist NEED HELP !!!

Cylinder lines are reversed, or the valve is stuck to one side.

Re: aftermarket carb for 318

I have a 1406 and like it. There's a little bog as the secondaries open when cold, but that's about it.

Re: 360 intake removal

Are you sure you have all the bolts out?

Usually you can pry on the front and back, gently, under the ends of the manifold. Most times there is enough space to get a smallish prybar in there.

Re: 727 experts - reverse trouble

Got it all back together and working. However, I discovered that there is no way to get that link assembled back into the trans between the case and the band. So after fighting it for 1/2 hour I filed off the tabs on one side of it so that I could twist it back into place in two pieces. I prodded at...

Re: 727 experts - reverse trouble

Glad you found a concrete answer. Bucky Me too, and I'm very glad it's something I can fix without dropping the transmission and pulling all the guts out! Although as I was laying there with ATF running through my hair I was thinking that having it sitting on a bench upside down would be nice right...

Re: 727 experts - reverse trouble

Broken band apply linkage. Everything else looks fine - band has plenty of meat, drum is not glazed or scored. The low/reverse servo piston and seal even look pretty good, but I ordered a heavy-duty replacement already so might as well swap it out. Going to call some tranny shops on Monday and hope ...

Re: Light problem

I have had trouble with a buried bundle of bullet connections under the cab on my truck. It is wrapped with the harness going to the lights and you wouldn't know it was there unless you look for it.

Re: 727 experts - reverse trouble

Kickdown doesn't have anything to do with reverse. Look for reverse band screw in the pan, they do come out. Reverse servo either seal bad, missing snap ring or cocked in the bore. Reverse band out of adjustment or broken. Most likely nothing to do with the valve body. Enjoy your transmission fluid...

Re: rear drum brakes to disc brakes????

im coming up on needing to replace my shoes and the drum is pretty worn out as well. hence the towing around with doing a disc conversion. it will be more expensive initially but in the long run a cheaper and easier to maintain set up than the drum system. would not surprise me if my drums are orig...

727 experts - reverse trouble

I've been driving my truck daily and so all the little things that didn't bother me are becoming more noticeable. Biggest issue right now is with the 727 trans. It shifts great in all forward gears, but it's lazy going into reverse and slips a little. I don't have another car right now so I'm hoping...

Re: rear drum brakes to disc brakes????

Yes Grand Cherokee 98 to 99. But honestly, I can't see the need for rear discs on a truck. 94-98 Grand Cherokees all had rear discs with the correct wheel lug pattern. All new trucks come with rear disc brakes. Are disc brakes inferior somehow compared to drums? Not inferior at all. But I can't ima...

Re: rear drum brakes to disc brakes????

The brakes from 90s era jeep Cherokee's bolt straight on. Paul Do you mean Grand Cherokee? I don't think any Cherokee from the 90s had rear discs. I can't find anything in a quick search about what years the GC had rear disc brakes and what years had rear drums. The GC went to a 5 on 5 bolt pattern...

One of the times I talked to Francisco I asked him if the drag link from the pitman arm to the drivers side soindle was going to be adjustable so we can center up out steering wheels? Does anyone know if this has beed done by CPP or even thought of? Thanks Jason This uses the stock, non-adjustable ...

Re: Found a painter but have a question

He did a pretty good job. I can't complain for the $150 he charged. Now I need to get the 15x7 up front and the 15x8 in the rear with the 255/70/15's and get those painted white and I think I'll be set. For a while at least. I figure after installing the dash I'll be tired of working on it. http://...

Re: new box power steering

Not sure, the box and frame bracket are done, they just needed someone to work on the fitment. I've been back and forth to their shop 5 or 6 times bringing parts and measurements to get it all working and it's almost done. They are still having some bent pitman arms made.
Here it is, hard to see with all the stuff in the way, but it looks like it belongs.
