Try Roadsters.com this guy has been dropping axles for years and his work looks professional as well.
He also has lots of interesting things at this address.

I had the same trouble with a Duster 340 and headers,,, burnt up 2 of them until I made a heat shield out of a can that was larger than the starter, painted it white to reflect as much heat back as possible and it was on the car when I sold it. I haven;t done this but plan to in the near future, but dropping the axle is considered the better way of lowering your ride.
Go to roadsters.com , this guy has a super website, and lots of good literature. he has been at this for some years and knows it well.
