Re: 360 to NP 420???

I think you have to put a shim behind the flywheel or it will rub on the bell housing.
some used a flexplate and cut it down for the shim holes are there that way

Re: Side step fuel tanks

years ago there were tanks that replaced the running boards on some W-300s in the NW
full legnth about 4" deep at the step and 4 to 6"s wide going up to the bottom of the cab.

never found out who made them and didn't have money to try and get them

engine hoist has a flat

Hate it when the tires go flat on my engine hoist.
Now it will take a year to get around to fixing them,
no to get the wheels off then another year to fix the tires.
Guess I'm slowing down some

Re: manual steering box

there are places to have them rebuilt.
can get new ones on EBay.
D100-200-300 are the same, seems there were two types used,
but with a slight move of the steering colume I think either will work

W300-D-400-500-600 and maybe bigger are the same

Re: Shake, rattle and roll (i hope not)

one of these times when you have a front wheel off the ground grab it and try to push the top in and pull it out-- if it moves much you need to check the trunion bearings, also refered to as ball joints or king pins in some. (wanted to cover all the names) One of my books calls them the upper and lo...
