Re: rim size to replace widowmakers

Yeah Stockton wheel can do any combination you want. In finding wheels ... 16" wheels, you can use Ford 16" wheels with the 8 lug pattern on 3/4 ton and 1 ton 4 wheel drive Dodge trucks, and 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive trucks as well. The center hole is big enough to fit over the rear and I believe the fr...

Re: Braden Winch repair?

WOW cool info, my winch's clutch is frozen too, I have been thinking to take it apart and rebuild it. Somewhere along the line, someone must have put the winch in gear thinking they were engaging the front axle. Beccause the strap across the fair lead top is sucked in big time on my truck, LOL.

I've found, all you have to do is ask Brett, and the guys here are more than happy to help and or give moral support, and a lil humor at times, as well. No one ever talks down, as John says ... everyone talks to you or with you.

Re: Factory hole through dash??

My experience with utility/government trucks and equipment tells me that the 3 holes on the right side of your instrument cluster hood, is where the two way radio most likely was mounted. The hole in the top of the dash, I can not say for sure, it could have been any one of a number of items the equ...

Re: Shutter when in low gear

My '68 does the same thing, it is a 4 spd. divorced, with the NP 435 and NP 201. I have been told, this is the transfer case that does this, and I hear that the reason they went to the 205's is that the 201's were noisy, had a vibration noise when you backed out of the throttle, also I heard that th...

Re: Anybody Seen a tool Chest like this??

Highway orange here in California. Interesting though, if you notice here in Californa, Caltrans is now painting the fleet white with a reflective orange stripe. It is because the old orange paint contained lead. So we had to discontinue that color to be lead free, lol. Now the vehicles blend in, in...

My '68 has a cigarette lighter too. Someone put a fancy one in, has a lighted ring around it, lights up so you can find it in the dark, lol.

Re: Anybody Seen a tool Chest like this??

The truck appears to have belonged to a state highway department, or some other, like a utility co. ? In any event such as that, it was most likely an item the equipment shop installed before it was issued to the unit in the field. Sometimes the equipment shop fabricated these items, and sometimes t...

Re: Guys, I gotta know about my flatbed

Cody, a flat bed is just as much a truck as any other, and as you see, by comments, it is something special. Sometimes, I want to put a long bed back on my ole Dodge, but I just couldn't haul what I haul with it if I had the sweptline bed on it! Not so say you can't haul a lot with a regular truck b...
