Re: Speedometer needle is erratic
In order for those speedometer gears to be exact in EVERY vehicle (car or truck) for a given rear axle ratio it would require each vehicle to have the exact same circumference of tire. I doubt every Mopar passenger car with say a 3.23 rear ratio had the exact same size tire, nor would they likely be...

Re: Speedometer needle is erratic
First thing I would try would be to remove that inner cable, inspect it for burrs then completely lubricate the entire length of it. Also check the cable housing to see if it is in a bind somewhere along its layout. I would think that the gear you installed would have the same depth of hole as the o...

Re: sweptline parts
There was a member here who made certain body panels, like rockers for instance. I think it was Exline.
Anyways I don't know anymore who is dealing in what. Things seem to be shifting away.

Re: 361 engine swap
Are you wanting to use the 361 with the automatic that's behind the 318? I don't think that's doable, small vs big block.
Swapping the whole motor/transmission combo is doable if you do like he said & get everything.

Re: Horn Wiring Example - 66 D100
+12 from the fuse panel goes directly to one horn terminal, or +12 from the ign switch accessory terminal goes to that terminal. Depends on whether you want the horn to only work when the key is on. The other horn terminal goes to the horn button in the column, which ground it when the button is pu...

Re: Horn Wiring Example - 66 D100
I have heard of the Ron Francis harness but am not familiar with any of its specifics. I am somewhat oriented with the factory set-up, or at least the ones from the mid 70's. Those IIRC were set-up to where pressing the horn button on the steering wheel would complete the GROUND leg of the circuit. ...

Yes things that were of excellent quality in the 70s, 80s & 90s may not be so today. So much has changed over the years, greed has pushed quality aside in several industries.

Re: paint gun
I am a house painter by trade but have shot vehicles a few times. For most of my needs the HVLP type worked great, but it was slower to me than a conventional air gun. I was comfortable with a DevilBiss JGA siphon gun but that was ages ago. I have used gravity guns on piece work but never did an ent...

Re: 318 - Fuel Line Route
I never was a fan of the factory behind the alternator routing of the fuel line from pump to carb because I feel it can contribute to vapor lock problems in the Summer, at least where I live. I always route the line out away from the block/alternator & up over the passenger side valve cover. It migh...

Re: id ply 318 vs la318....
The Poly engines were A blocks. Then there was B block engines, which were the big block wedge engines (350,361,383,400). Also there was the RB (raised B) blocks tall383, 413, 426, 440.
The LA I think was "later" A. Included 273, 318, 340, 360

Re: id ply 318 vs la318....
The lower edge of the valve covers on the Poly is jagged. On the LA it is straight, similar to the big blocks.
Exhaust ports are equally separated on the poly.

Re: 1968 crew cab power wagon motor/drivetrain option??
If you are wanting to do away with ALL of your existing drivetrain & go to a married t-case set-up & newer axles here are some pointers: (A) Avoid half tons for axles, but they should be fine for engine/trans/tcase. (B) Avoid 74 & older because not much changed from 68 pertaining to axles/brakes. Th...

yeah I could be at his house (he works out of a shop on the side of his property) in less than 2 hours. Lucky for me I'm not in the need of any of his products. I feel bad for those who are, especially those who's money he has pocketed.

Almost looks like a seat for an old boat.
I once owned an A100 & the seats looked similar if not identical, but I can't say if that's what those are.

I am having a somewhat similar experience with a magneto company in California. Another mom & pop outfit. I emailed them asking for a certain product.
