Re: New project
Nice 68 Fargo Power Wagon you scored Vern, sounds like it was well maintained having started like that. Good luck with your new project if you need parts let us Albertan's know we have lots of swepty stuff hoarded out west.

Re: Soon to be new owner of a 1964 Dodge W300
Some of us actually go wheeling and drive around in cities in our W300's, power steering makes that experience much more enjoyable! Driving a one ton that weighs in excess of 7000 # in a 60 mph cross wind with manual steering is not only difficult but dangerous.

Re: Soon to be new owner of a 1964 Dodge W300
The five speed od transmission upgrade will extend your chosen engines life span as the rpm's will be lower, gas mileage will not increase noticeably as these W300 trucks have a tare weight in the 7000 # range and are not aerodynamic at all. If you want mileage go with a cummins swap, I have the Get...

Re: Soon to be new owner of a 1964 Dodge W300
I just checked the disc brakes and just realized that the discs are for the Dana 44 front. I wonder if the power steering kit will fit? Correct, and it's the small knuckle Dana 44 (3,000 pound rating). Is what you have up front a closed knuckle Dana 60? Post the weight ratings on your axles (on the...

Re: NP205 rebuild kits
From what I own and have seen, the last year for the np201 ebrake was 65. I have a 65, it has the ebrake, I just bought a 66, it doesn't, and neither does my 67. A 201 is similar to a 205, but as mentioned earlier, there are more tapered rollers in a 201. I rebuilt mine, if you have access to a pre...

Re: Power brakes on 64 with 440 issues?
It is rather busy with the plumbing, you are correct about the flow and static pressure & it is run by the P/S being first in line (series) for obvious reasons so no distribution block is needed except for the two return lines. The big Merc's & Lincolns from the seventies ran the hydro booster as we...

Re: Power brakes on 64 with 440 issues?
Dana Hayes Hydro Booster out of a chebby one ton with over 2000 psi of boost, a good alternative for lumpy cams and low vacuum.

Re: Power brakes on 64 with 440 issues?
I see you have power steering why not put in a hydra booster it is relatively easy with no clearance issues and a much cleaner look. I put one out of a chebby one ton in my 67 W100 SWB if you need any info on the subject let me know. jwing68

Re: 1964? W300 Value
For the most part the frames are the same, exceptions are the left frame rail steering gear location is stamped to utilize the 100/200 gear versus the bigger gemmer gear of the W's. The bell housing mount has to be changed for the front drive shaft clearance, the center cross member comes out and th...

Re: Correct Door Assembly Procedure
I wrote some notes when I did mine. 1. Lay the door flat outside down 2. Install the door latch 3. Lay window regulator & glass in door 4. Attach regulator to glass inside the door 5. Bolt regulator to door- leaving window down 6. Install upper door frame with vent window attached to upper frame. 7....

Judging by the size of the knuckles its not a W300, Ray is still in business and sells a well engineered kit.

Re: More Power Steering Box Donors Found?
It's unfortunate the cpp setup is not working out, I have been kicking around the idea of a crossover setup on my 68 W300 by swapping the knuckles to put the steering out in front for the crossover setup. What do you think fellas is it feasible?

Re: 67 Fargo W100
Get a hold of Ray I'm pretty sure he can help you after all the dana 70 has the same large knuckle you refer to on your 44, IMO it would be just a matter of drilling it for the bolt pattern on your 44's spindle.

Re: 67 Fargo W100
FYI Ray Suiter has been making disc brake systems for sweptline W's & D's for a long time, I purchased one of his disc brake kits for my 68 W300 a couple of years ago at that time he was working overseas and I had to wait for his return to Fort Myers FL which took a year. His son is now assisting hi...
