Re: 1969 w100 steering angle adjustment

I had https://www.wfoconcepts.com/i-30505029- ... reads.html make the tie rod and drag link. IIRC, I did have to ream both holes for the new drag link
Only if the mice don’t have teeth. The oval flap on mine has been chewed through by what could only be mice.
Same problem here. They were nesting in the heater box. I put some 1/4" hardware cloth over the holes. Mice cant chew through it and it still drains fine.

Re: New life

Well, the last of the parts came yesterday. These took about 6 weeks from the day I ordered them but it was well worth the wait. Very well packaged and almost pretty to look at.
No more vibrations!!

Re: New life

Thank you all! The radiator is out of a later Dodge truck, cant remember the year, but it fits like it was made for the truck. I did need to make some brackets to bolt it in. As far as the heads, they have smaller valves then the standard BB heads. Seems like the exhaust valves are like 1.60ish. It ...

Re: New life

Bucky, Its a 6 bolt crank, standard, forged big block crank. I replaced the rods because I wanted to. Here is a link. http://store.440source.com/Connecting-Rods-RB-with-Capscrew-bolts-Set-of-8/productinfo/200-1132/ Very nice rods. According to the machinist, they were all very close in weight. There...

Re: w-100 drag link

Just to clarify. I did the reaming by hand with a tap handle, actually didnt take long at all. I didnt measure the before and after but Id bet I didnt take more than 1/16" of material out. The real issue was the new end didnt go far enough in for the cotter pin to fit through the castle nut. Thus th...

I bought this pig 24 years ago. I put a used 440 in it at the time to replace the original 318 which was junk. Jump ahead to 2021 and the used 440 is tired, leaking and burning oil and coolant. Time for a transplant. I was given a 426 industrial a few years ago for free so why not? Bought a complete...

Re: w-100 drag link

Well after that debacle I found a place that custom makes drag links https://www.wfoconcepts.com/pr/Custom-1-25x-219-Wall-DOM-Tie-Rod-7-8x18-Threads/4295/3707 All they needed is the center to center length and the type of tie rod end you want. $233 with ends and lock nuts. I used Moog ES 2010R & ES2...

Full floater wheel bearing lube

Doing some work on my 70 W200 Dana 60. Pulled the axles and there is gear oil in the wheel bearings. I dont see any seal that would keep the gear oil out.
My question is, is this the normal way to lube the bearings or is there supposed to be some seal?

Thanks all sb

Check your spark plugs. Probably sooty black. If so, too much carb/fuel
