Re: 4.0L in a Sweptie???

great engines but I think its never really done because you can build slant 6 to have lots of power cheap and 318s are plenty powerful and low cost. the 4.0 doesnt get very good mileage either. and wont outlast a slant 6 or 318 with hardened valve seats. Trivia of the day. the 95 and up 4 cylinder ...

Re: Looking for Advice on My Shop

lol! I guess I did miss something. btw, you may be able to extend a small portion around the doors to accommodate a longer vehicle fairly easy, or maybe just extend the roof out a few feet over the doors if the back end hanging out isn't an issue. either way, it beats the shop I have right now...

Re: Looking for Advice on My Shop

did I miss something here? are you talking about pouring a bunch of money into a property you don't own? if so, been there done that... don't go there, don't do that. why is there so little joy in passing on lessons learned the hard way? :banghead if it's your own shop, stretch it to at least 24' if...

Re: Happy Birthday to me!!!

if you have hot spark, no ballast resistor issues, and no sign of life whatsoever then you must not have hot spark. :)

if the plugs are all firing, you should have sign of life of some sort. you have tried moving distributor around while cranking, no doubt :thinking

Re: Happy Birthday to me!!!

lol! sounds like you been working on diesels too long.

once you got spark, toss cup or two of gas down carb and spin.

no amount of towing is going to make up for no fuel. wouldn't be first rusted gas tank and fuel lines. :salut

Re: Strange Looking Inner Finder

it could be a generator mount too, there would be a fuel line heading that direction though. I have heard of A/C compressors used for air but was told they were very low volume. on the other hand, they do provide some air. evidently you need to add lube to the ingoing air to lube the compressor. app...

Re: think its about time to quit smoking

late december, 2001 (a few days before new years) cold turkey, haven't looked back. :dance

tobasco sauce helps, hot foods seem to derail the nicotine urge. I would throw some aged cheddar on a soft taco, oven or nuke for 60 seconds, lots of tabasco, no more craving.

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs

The preview for Vegas shows a pie plate Power Wagon. There is also a D200 but I don't know if it supposed to represent the same truck or not. http://www.worstpreviews.com/headline.php?id=24877 I just noticed that last night, the sherriff drives the power wagon and his brother, the deputy who is cha...

Where on TV did you see that :thinking place. Was it Diner's , Drivein's and Dive's with Guy Fiery. it was just some show that covers off the wall local shindigs. Last nights show was about an alabama chicken festival, you know, big hoot around all things chicken. They showcased that restaurant and...

Re: 4BT cummins in a 74 Satelite

cool! I would love an old hotrod with a diesel in it that I could drive without thinking about fuel costs like I do my brick. I was thinking more along the lines of something from the '50's with a bulbous hood big enough to hide a 6bt under. I bet the owner of this one has turned the pump up a bit t...

Re: Strange Looking Inner Finder

might have been for a plow, but there is no way the reservoir would have to be that big.

if it was a generator, why the odd accessory mount?

i'm going to guess reservoir mount for air compressor.
