Re: scrapyard bound

unfortunately these 2 trucks are headed for the crusher. if anyone close to Indiana is interested in buying any parts please let me know. they gotta go. First time in 4 years I have regretted buying a 7,000 lb rated trailer, versus the 12,000 lb rated trailer that was beside it. :banghead Relatives...

Re: Car Trailers

h I bought one of these 4 years ago: How big is your trailer bed? And how do you like it? 18 feet of the bed tilts, 4 feet is fixed. I haven't used the 4feet of fixed much, but the little I have I was glad to have it. Had been considering roll-back truck configurations, but decided the tags, propert...

Cool '69 Dodge Dealer Ad

Sorry about the poor quality. It was stored with some pictures, and they bonded together. Ad was too big for my scanner, so scans are of the front and back, left justified, then right justified. Some Camper Specials on the back with their slide-in campers on. Also some RV's, I think the largest RV h...

Re: 400 stroker?

I have a mid 70's Dodge with a well worn, but running, 400 big block. The natural replacement would be a 440, but a friend mentioned there is a 400 stroker kit available that preforms better then a 440... anyone know about this? He was unaware of the details but remembers it using a 440 crank and s...

Re: Floorboard Work

Both trucks are Camper Specials, with camper anchors on the cowl of the cab. I have always wondered if the extra stress on the cab mounts and floor board weakened the floor board metal due to the cab/frame/camper constantly minutely twisting, working the metal. Here is the passenger side...............

Well the wife and kids had pink eye for the last couple of days, so I figured I would spend some time outside to avoid getting it. I got a little accomplished, it's not perfect, but solid :Thumbsup Great work! Now, come practice some more on mine............LOL. Both 69 D200's are from Colorado & W...

Here is one currently in Europe, said to have numerous racing stickers from years ago all over the inside of the doors of the large storage box behind the cab:

Re: Engine Markings/440

You do have a good mystery going.

The 4006630 440 block casting was used for the 75-78 model years.

Any VIN stamped on the pad on the passenger side, just above the oil pan rail on the block?

Re: Engine Markings/440

The E you are seeing stands for cast crank, and I will bet is after the 440 stamping on the pad.

The letter for the model year should appear before the 440 stamping.

Can you post all the letters/numbers on the top pad, in the order and location they appear?

Re: Engine Markings/440

The motor could not have been original to a '74 model year vehicle. Production stopped the 2nd/3rd week of July, 1974, unless some strange unforeseen circumstances occurred. The numbers on the top pad would tell the story, assembly date as far as month and day, and the model year of vehicle the engi...

Re: Engine Markings/440

IMO,............while remote, there is a chance you have a 9/74 cast block (this would have actually been during the '75 model year), assembled at some point in mid '77 for a vehicle put in production 8/77, the first month of the '78 model year. For example, I have a '69 cast 440 block, that decodes...
