Brake pedal covers
Has any one found replacement covers for a 1970 sweptline? Haven't found any yet so thought I'd ask. Mine is an auto. Thanks!

Also, crank it over with the cap off and make sure the rotor is turning. Just a thought. Mike

Probably the alternator. There should be a regulator available from Powermaster. Good luck. Mike

Re: Light problem
I had to get a new canceling switch and harness for my 70 D100. Found one on Rock Auto for a reasonable price. PITA to install since the color codes were wrong but once I figured the problem out everything worked well. Not sure if that will help but wanted to let you know what fixed my rig. Good luc...

Re: Light problem
There is a special little gremlin that spends entirely too much time messing with wiring on our trucks. One of these days I'm going to catch him and when I do he's not long for this world! Mike

Re: charging problem
I think you're talking about the 2 prong ballast resister. The VR is the black rectangular box on the passenger side of the firewall. It has 2 wires to it and the new ones are solid state rather than mechanical. That is if everything is still stock. A picture might help. That way we will be able to ...

Re: charging problem
That's a ballast resistor and probably doesn't have anything to do with your problem. On my 68 I cured that problem by redoing all the grounds on the lights and grounding from the battery to the Radiator support. Also changed from the mechanical VR to an electronic one. My 70 doesn't do the pulsing ...

Re: 67 D100 Clutch
It should have a hydraulic clutch. The master cylinder and the slave cylinder might need to be rebuilt just like the brakes. I would try filling the master cylinder first and bleeding it at the slave cylinder. That should let you know what kind of shape the system is in. Good luck. :Thumbsup Mike

Re: Side Marker light Question
With the bulbs fused into the sockets you might have blown a fuse. You've probably already checked that but just thought I'd mention it just in case. Wiring is SO much fun! :dance :dance Good luck. Mike P.S. There is a wiring diagram for the 70 here. Just check the search at the top of the page. Eve...

Thanks. The bushing I was looking for is the torque shaft bushing. Found one on E-bay and my helper got it installed. Works great and shifter now catches all the gear positions. Mike

Re: Quiet rant
Alright, sorry. Guess I was just in a bad mood. BTW, the bushing I was looking for is the torque shaft bushing and I found one on Ebay. Much as I hate to buy there. So if anyone else needs that part you can get one there. It just seemed like my last few posts stirred up very little interest and I co...

Quiet rant
I evidently have ruffled some feathers here and I'm not sure what I did. My last few posts have been ignored and I can't think of why. So it is some regret that I will be leaving this forum. I still love my Sweptlines but I have found more interest on the Facebook sites than here. Mike

Auto shift linkage bushings
I used the search but couldn't find the info I was looking for so decided to ask. Has anyone found the replacement bushings for the auto shift linkage for a 70? I find a lot of bushings on line but I have found nothing on the size or for that application. I can't get under the truck to measure and m...

I had a similar situation once. Frying the points about every month or so. Turned out I was getting 12 volts to the coil all the time. You probably have checked this but worth a shot. Mike
