I can't say enough good about Eaton Springs. You get what you pay for and these fit like a glove and the ride is great. Pretty fast delivery and very nice folks to deal with. Well worth the money spent :Thumbsup

You can argue all day on part time verse full time trucks. If the axles cheap enough, in good shape and the ratios right go with it. You can always add a prop. valve if you find you need it.

Yea I'll have to agree about the history lession. It brought to focus something I always knew but never really thought about. I guess "ratkiller" would be a good name for duel four barrels or maybe "terminex"

I hate to tell you dodgegrrrrrrl not all "pinging" (detonation) is autable. Wideblock pretty much hit it on the head 6-8 degree advanced is a good start. Set it with the distributor advance unplugged and make sure the advance is working when you plug it back in. A non working advance in it's self wi...

A little more information such as which motor you have would help but it does sound like your motor might be running a little bit retarted.

I did something similar a while back to a kid and his girlfriend except I had a barcolounger in the bed. He was driving a new Chevy with the "SS" package. When it was all said and done the chair was back by the tailgate and he wouldn't even look at me. Duel quads beats fuel injection anytime :Thumbsup

They were actually called "white hat specials". My '68 was one of those and it consisted of a slant 6, auto and dealer installed air. My grandpa also got a white straw cowboy hat with it. $2300 dollars out the door.

O.K. Coffin here's the real deal if you insist on staying with a 318 (an engine near and dear to my heart). 1. Get the compression up. This is the main draw back to making these run. Since your rebuilding anyway spend the money on the pistons and leave the excess machine work alone. Do just enough t...

Tom, I'd look at ALL the wheel cylinders. Major point in brake problems on these trucks because of the age.

You maybe missing out on not using the mid '70s full time system Pat. My M880 climbs like a goat on steroids and surprisingly gets pretty good mileage. The system actually works like a all wheel drive vehicle. Just something to think about.

If anybody deals with Clifford Performance call and make sure they have the part in stock before you pay them for it. After the old man died the customer service went to hell in a handbasket. There is some pretty cool repro parts out for the six including the hyper pac intake. Mill the head .090 to ...
