Re: Mufflers!
thanks! when people see/hear it for the first time, they think it has a 440 in it. When I say its just a 340, they go in shock.MountainMoparRobin wrote:69D300,

Re: Mufflers!
My sweptline had long glass packs on it dumped right behind the cab for years, and it sounded good, but it was loud. It has stock mufflers on it now with tail pipes run out the back and its too quiet. The 340 in my 'Cuda is built pretty good, and has longtube headers with 3" flowmaster super 40 muff...

Re: starting problems
Its a heavier click. I replaced the ignition switch and the first time I turned the key it fired up. I let it run for 15 mins, turned it off, and tried it again. I got the clicking sound again. However, it would crank on the 2nd or 3rd try rather than the 15-20th attempt. When my dad cleaned he star...

Re: Lights Dim then Bright Again
Voltage regulator? I had a similar issue in the past with my truck. Normally when its idling the lights will be dim and they will increase in brightness as rpm goes up, but only to a certain rpm is reached. The voltage regulator holds that voltage level and keeps them at a certain brightness. To me,...

Re: starting problems
I've had two new relays on it, so I'm pretty sure it isn't the root of my problem. Thanks though.Oldguy wrote:It could also be the relay. Had that happen once. Good luck! Mike

Re: starting problems
I do this by using a screwdriver to connect the battery terminal to the solonoid terminal on the relay? I don't want to burn any wiring up.

starting problems
I have starting issues with my 69 D300 truck. I can get in the truck, and turn the key and I get a clicking sound. After turning the key 10-15 times, it will crank over, like normal. This i what I have done so far. Replaced the starter relay. Cleaned all wire terminal ends that attach to it. Replace...

Your truck have a ballast resistor on it? My 69 D300 has played this game with me before, and I replaced it and bam, it fired right up. I've also encountered the same problem with my 'Cuda as well. You mentioned that you were doing a frame up resto, so I assume all the parts are new. I've had experi...

Best Clutch for a 69 D300?
I am going to pull the trans out before long to put a new snyncro kit in it as they are completely toast, and was going to do the clutch at the same time. I would like to know what is the best clutch out there for my 69 D300. Since I've had the truck, only 20,000 miles have been put on it, but I've ...

Mine used to burn oil with havoline 10W40, then I switched to regular castrol 20W50. It got better but still smoked/burnt a little. I have since switched to castrol high milage 20W50 and both issues have been eliminated. Plus my motor holds an almost constant 50 lbs of oil pressure running this stuf...

The original hood on it got damaged. We used to have a rack on the back of the truck for loading and unloading monuments, and the roller came off the rack and crashed down on the center of the hood. My dad changed the hood out. I guess we'll have to look for the correct hood. Was the hood for 69 one...

Pictures as promised. I've got a problem with the passenger side axle tube. There is a groove cut in it that allows the axle dope to leak past it onto my brake shoes. I bought a speedy sleave for it and hopefully that will fix it. Just having the time to work on it is the problem. http://people.clem...
