Re: Dodge 2 ton truck
Made the push pin and it has worked so far. I noticed I need to replace more wheel cylinders but I went to take it around the block and once I use the brakes they won't release the pressure and lock up the rear end. Check all the rubber hoses in the system. The rubber line from frame to rear end ha...

Hijack the thread! Well then next time I'll be sure to ask the almighty PwrWgnDrvr for permission to ask a question. Or he could use his divine wisdom to get it back on track (as opposed to taking it even farther off). :shame AFIK, the only threads on this site that are 'property' are Member Build ...

Re: Dodge 2 ton truck
PTO off the 435 trans. Crane is a 1969 Hiab Speedloader. I am no PTO geek. On the truck I am building I have a dual output Braden PTO (output shaft comes out both front and rear) mounted on my NP201. The plan is to run both the winch and the hydraulic pump that runs the dump bed with the same PTO, ...

Re: Drive Train Swap
If you look at that bell crossmember you will see it is attached to the rear leaf spring bracket at the frame. Without the spanner at that point, the frame will be twisting from the leaf springs and engine weight on the frame. Its a long way from the front K member to the auto trans rear crossmember...

Re: Pitman Arm Removal - Am I missing a step?
Is there something else holding the arm on? Risking a silly question, as I'd rather feel dumb, than break something. Thank you, Yup. Simply pull the bolt all the way out. It rides in a groove on the steering box shaft. Its a safety feature so if the nut gets loose it won't fall off and leave you wi...

I see it too, because I have the profanity filter turned off. Go to user control panel. Select board preferences. Select edit display options. Select no for enable word censoring. Then you will see it, along with all the proper descriptions of stuff, like: that was a bunch of *#%^ that was a hell of...

Re: Dodge 2 ton truck
I have a 70 D500 and did brakes a number of years ago. Not sure what push pin you are referring too, Got a pic of it. Sounds like the push rod between the piston and the shoe, with the slot in the end that the shoe rides in. Very common part, should be a million of them in wrecking yards, but a rea...

Re: Truck Died
Crankcase pressure is built up by piston blow-by of combustion gases. Rotating crank and pistons moving up and down does not change pressure.

Re: White hat special
I’m trying to stay away from the trim idea as the truck was born without it. I’m just trying to give the look a little bit more pop. That trim isn’t cheap either. If I was to go the trim route it would be the 62 style that ends at the tip of the swept part. What yr is your truck? Early long beds ar...

Re: Hood options
Yes, the 68 hood will bang into the grill. 68 hoods are 1 yr only so if its in great shape its worth way more than the correct hood you need, which was used 61-67.

Re: 1961 Differential Pinion Seal
I've searched the forums, and the parts people have searched their reference books, and we can't find a seal for the diff on my 61' D100. It's the good ol' 8 3/4". Can anyone point me in the right direction? What are the casting numbers on the center section? 741,389,742 ? The seals are still avail...

Take it out and look for the seal number stamped into it. Or, measure it up and find one the same dimensions.

Re: Power Steering Conversion Kits
I don't know who the 'not allowed' LLC is. On my '67 D100 I installed a kit sold by ezsteer on ebay. Overall I am satisfied and I am very happy with the results. There are a few points to note. Not Allowed is the guy you bought your system from. As your truck is a D100, it is totally different than...

You should also get the FSM (Factory Service Manual). It will be exceedingly more useful than the parts book.Rickandkatie1970 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 1:30 pmthank you everyone for your help i decided to purchase the part manual i should have it by Wednesday.
