Beautiful Sweptline.

This might not be the place to put this but it's so beautiful I just want to show it off. It's not mine. Its not cheap but it's ready to drive and enjoy.

Re: Russ Roth

This is the original Russ from way back. Russ Roth jokingly called himself the other Russ. We lived on opposite coasts but kept in touch by phone, Russ would attend a reunion in Georgia of some of his war buddies every few years and would visit me while here. My wife and I always enjoyed his visits ...

Re: Owner of 3 HPP trucks passes.

I'm sorry to hear the news of his death. I read his obit and he definitely accomplished a lot in his life. R.I.P. Dr. Winkler, the Mopar world has lost a good man.

Re: JEEPS OR, How to spend a TON of money!

Jim, I still drop in once in a while to see what you guys are doing. I still drive my old Dodge occasionally when I go visit my Bro in law. It still looks and drives great and gets compliments every time it's out. This thread caught my eye because I have had the pleasure over the past year to teach ...

Re: JEEPS OR, How to spend a TON of money!

Jim, just have her take a drive in one and she might not want one anymore. My son had one in his body shop that he had painted, and asked me to deliver it to a used car lot that owned it. It was about ten miles away over good roads and before I had gone half the way I knew that I didn't ever want on...

They also make a replica of a 50 Chevy truck. The price on that one is $250K so I can imagine that the Dodge is priced fairly high too.

Re: Atlanta CL sweptline

I didn't mention the inaccuracies in the ad since this is the Sweptline forum and I knew that everyone here would immediately pick up on the wrong information. Even with all of the mix-and-match parts I'd still be interested if I was in the market for a project right now. Since it is a 68 model it c...

Atlanta CL sweptline

Hello guys, I don't get back here to the Sweptline forum too often since I switched to "brand C" but do drop in occasionally to check up on what's going on. I saw this ad in the parts section of CL today and almost made me want to go buy it. Since I don't need another project I thought I'd post it h...

Re: Does this belong to a member?

That truck was in Don Bunn's "Dodge Pickups History and Restoration Guide". It had 19K miles on it at the time it was photographed, and did have Minnesota tags on it. It's been sold a few times since then.

Re: POR 15 products

POR-15 has a good following and a lot of guys swear by it, but I haven't used it enough to have an opinion. I do know from experience that it will peel off if you don't prep the surface first. The PO had POR'ed the floor of my 69 Dodge over the original paint, and I easily peeled it off with a wire ...

Re: Picked up the new heart today

What Trey said. I definitely wouldn't open the engine up if it runs good and maintains that much oil pressure at idle. About the only thing I would do would be to rock the crank back and forth to feel if there's any slack in the timing chain. If there's slack it's easy to replace while the engine is...

Re: When a sledge hammer fails... im lost

"some idiot did that on my fury fender and theres like 35 holes" The person who did it might have been a idiot, I don't know, but what you see is the way it was done before stud welders became common. The holes were punched with a sharp point punch, not drilled, and they had to be close together. Th...

Re: Another Toasted Alternator

If I went to a shop and was told that the Mopar alternators were no good I would exit the premises as quick as possible and never go back there again. Obviously they aren't very knowledgeable about alternators. Mopar alternators are quite easy to repair if they do need it and the brushes can be chan...

1960 Plymouth Valient. The same style probably would have come on other Mopars, but definitely did come on the early sixties Valients. Google "1960 Valient" for pics.

"Russ A., any time you are feeling nostalgic and want to work on an old Swepty you just let me know. Goodness knows I've got projects to work on. Which reminds me, what did you use for caulking when you replaced the caulking on your drip rail? " I used 3M seam sealer over POR-15. It's not a quick jo...

I definitely enjoyed myself. Russ R. comes every two years so we need to figure out how to get more of the guys together next time. We don't have to wait two years though.
