Re: Front W100 leaf springs in 1964 D100
I too am interesed in testimonials fromn anyone who has actually used the W springs to lower the front of a D truck. I removed the 2nd and 4th leaf out of mine to lower it and it rides like crap, WAAAY too soft in the front and the bump stops get more action than Domninoes on super bowl sunday. Pics...

Re: 4x4 conversion
That being said, is there a better way to do the 4x4 conversion than using the 63? If you are NOT a purist, I would look for a mid 80s Dodge 4x4 donor truck. Disk Brake front axle. That is what I did on my '69 Slant 6 4x2. I used a 413 i had laying around used axles, transmission and transfer case ...

Somebody has posted the Fuel Sending units OHMs somewhere on the site, i am too lazy too look for it. i think the ford is 90 ohms empty, 7 ohms full range where the dodge is 73 ohms empty, 10 ohms full ...

Re: Fuel Venting - Leaking
I have moved the in cab fuel tank to a mustang 22 gal (Tanks Inc.) when i did my Fuel injuction setup. I didn't have to sacrifice any crossmembers. I did how ever have to notch the corners, and i welded angle iron to repalce the radius corner i cut out with a square corner. Some pics can be found ht...

The also make a re-usable trans pan gasket that came on some of the A-518 and 46/47/48 RE/RH transmissions that fit the 727 transmission. You can get them from the dealer or aftermarket.

Re: D400 Wheel cylinders and hardware
I know this will not help much but on my 67 D400, the front and rear wheel cylinders are absolutely different. The front only has 1 wheel cylinder per side (assuming it is a double piston)and the rear has 2 wheel cylinders per side (assuming single piston). I am in the process pulling the rear hubs ...

Re: D400 Brake bleeding process
All trucks with Hydraulic brake booster under cab have hose up into cab. Air inlet filter for booster diaphragm on one side. I have seen them on D and W 200, My D300. On a D400 I wrecked years ago and on my 70 D500. :thinking :thinking You wouldn't have any info on the air inlet filter, do you? may...

Re: D400 Brake bleeding process
Does your D400 have a frame mounted vacuum tank? My W600 does. Also has a vacuum gauge in the dash hooked to it. My 65 W500 didn't have the vacuum tank, but did have the hose up into the cab. Since that truck didn't run I can't tell you what the hose was for. Bucky No vacuum tank, just a frame moun...

D400 Brake bleeding process
Hi, does anyone know if there is a special bleeding process with trucks that have the frame mounted booster master cylinder or is it the regular RR - LR - RF - LF process? Also, there is a hose that runs from the frame mounted booster that vents (or sucks) in the cab. Mine is on the driver side next...

67 D400 cab compatibility question
Hello all, I just came into an opportunity to buy a 67 D400 (I think 67, small back windows, pie plate grill, push button door handles) cheap that has an almost rust free cab (A little around each front cab mount) but soild rockers and steps, pretty much a virgin truck with a long flat bed on it. Sw...

Re: Different master cylinder ?
you can find the 4 bolt 1" bore master cylinder of you look under 1968 d100 w/383. Not sure why that is not listed for the 69-71. It might be that your current setup is not factory and some PO replaced the vacuum booster and master cylinder from an older truck??? I am by no means an expert historian...

Re: Help with '69 D100 318
It sounds like you have already decided to replace the carb but i just had the same issue and it ended up being clogged jets. I am guessing PO tried running some ethanol after sitting for years and it loosened all the old crap in the tank/lines and clogged everything up. Regardless of the cause inte...
