What got painted what on military sweptlines?

Hi, guys, who out there is familiar with military dodge trucks? On the airforce sweptlines was it only the body and trim that was starlight blue, or did the chassis and motor get the color too like the old M37's, how about the later M880's did they get OD all over, I saw one and it was OD all over, ...

Re: Is this a '71?

Found a couple of the Internationals for sale locally. And I was wrong about the headlights.
They're called AB110's for the smaller ones, these ones are a 63 and a 65.
1963 AB110
1963 AB110
65AB110
65AB110
Heres a bigger one that has the two headlight setup.

Re: Is this a '71?

Yup, Ozzy Internationals and dodges were made on the same line with just a different grille and headlights between them. I can't tell if thats a 71, but the grille was same from 63 to early 70's. In New Zealand we got more internationals, they had 2 7"headlights, while the dodges had 4 5" headlights...

Very slowly with a file  I will make the grille out of resin tho.
The car transporter in the background I made by folding thin steel and soldering it.

Re: old matchbox tow truck

Got a small but growing sweptline collection, you can see in the foreground I'm converting a 4 eye into a 69, almost finished the hood, just need to make the grille now.

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs

Watchin DVDs at home last few days, saw a few sweptys in Speedway staring Elvis and Nancy Sinatra, then watched Duel and the school bus Dennis Weaver tries to push start with his Valiant is a 4 eye. Then watching a documentary on F105's in Nam', and theres lots of airforce sweptlines, with the roofs...

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs

My wife said there was a dodge in Beverly hills chihuahua, I was sceptical :thinking but she showed me and sure enough a blue and white pieplate stake bed, I guess she does know what she's talking about. Also watched Vanishing point again, and early on there's a dodge dealer with two new swept...

Saginaw rebuild kits on eBay

I've been looking for this kind of kit for a long time, now I've finally got got one from an eBay seller and it was exactly what I needed. The kit is for a 525 series saginaw, it only contains one pitman bearing so ask the guy for an extra, it will only cost you an extra 4 or 5 bucks. Here's the lin...

Re: diecast sweptlines atlast!!!

If I like the ones I bought, I'll buy two more long beds, and paint one red to match my truck as it was new and another like how it should look when I finish with it :idea
Sure wish they'd do some power wagons too, and a 68 or 69, always liked that grille best. :2cents

diecast sweptlines atlast!!!

Has anyone else seen those diecast 1/64 '65-'67 D100's that Greenlight has put out? They look real nice. So far they are pieplates only, but it looks like the hood and grill are separate so maybe other years might come soon, perhaps a Dude even. I've just ordered the blue long bed, a yellow service ...

Yeah I have a couple of LHD arms here, but I'd think by flipping them over it would only work on a seriously lowered front, which I'll be raising mine most likely. :thinking

Re: 71 d100 indonesia

Thought I better send you a picture of the hand brake too. They are the same for left and right hand drive, but have a different mounting bracket, (the silver one) if you cant find one locally it is easy to bend up a bracket and use on a park brake from a left hand drive truck. These trucks are very...

Cool to see another right hand drive :dance Can you show a picture of the steering arm? It's the one piece I'm missing from my D100. Making one now, as I had no luck finding one. Yours is the first RHD 2wd sweptline I've seen, besides my own unfinished truck. I notice your dash looks like it still h...

Re: Raising my D100

I still haven't had any springs arched yet, still too much other stuff on my plate to deal with now  But I went to a spring manufacturer to get the rear springs on my daily driver re-arched, and the guy said all leaves would be rearched so they work together like new. I remember the cost being ...
