Re: good deed for the day

Kevin,
Very nice, I totally agree with you about helping out. Down here it used to be called southern hospitality, now it is few and far between unless you go into the rural areas, or the mountains. Right Russ?
KARMA something goods gonna happen to you.

Re: Paint Color

I worked with a guy that painted his 2 door coupe flat black and he used waterproof primer and left it that way. It looked pretty good actually. He said if you cleared it, it would turn out shiney.

Re: Gentlemen Lock your trucks !!

I don't even know if my locks work. On my truck you have to literally push the door in while pulling the "fridge handle" for the door to open. Alot of times if I go to a store I leave the keys in the cupholder on the floor. I figue about 1/2 the people around here don't know how to drive a stick shi...

Re: 3 Days and counting.. The Dude!

I would clear the tail gate and run it! I'm sure you saw the episode on Stacy David's Gears where he put a different rear end set up on a swepty, anyway the owner of the truck had cherry bomb logos antiqued on the doors. Is the owner of that sweet truck a member of this site? By the way the people a...

Re: Radiator replacement

I pulled one out of a Ford econoline van. I had to switch the upper radiator hose and notch out the frame because it was too long. I got it at a pull-a-part for 18 bucks I think. It was almost brand new and had three rows for cooling. I measured and it was the closest one I could find at the time. I...

Re: How to Bleed the Vacuum Brake Booster????

If you don't have the special tool for crimping the rubber brake lines, cut 2 pieces of fuel line about 2-3 inches long and slip them over the tips of a pair of needle nose vice grip pliers. You can adjust the clamping pressure and the fuel hose will keep the pliers from damaging the rubber.

Re: Brake Booster, removing push rod?

There are some new tubing bending pliers on the market for bending brake lines. They make a very tight turn and loop without kinking the tubine. I bought mine off of the Matco tool truck, But I think they are available through Eastwood as well. They are under $30.00 and well worth it.

Re: truck stuck in place

If my truck sits for a long time with the parking brake engaged the rear brake shoes will rust themselves to the backing plates causing the same scenereo you are discribing.

Re: Brakes locking up???

I've seen the brake master cylinder not letting the pressure bleed off. If you loosen the brake lines at the master cyl. you can see the pressure bleed off and the wheels will free up, The other thing I have seen doing the same thing is if the truck is fitted with a proportioning valve in the brake ...

This may get a laugh or two, but here goes. I'd like to get a small cassette only player to mount under the dash. I like to make my own tapes and can't afford to do the same with a cd. Do they still make these players? No offence but I think with the price of blank CD's it would be cheaper unless y...

mine did that once, drove me nuts for a month or so. turned out to be a weak fuel line. as i would drive, it would slowly collapse and block off the fuel. soon as the truck died, it would open and the vaccume it had developed would refill the clear glass filter and appear as if there was no problem...
