My pickup has a 318, 4 speed with 4th gear overdrive, 3.55 rear end and the tires are 31s, now my problem is that sucker is way too high geared, it will idle in 1st gear at about 15 mph, I need to know what is a good gear ratio for these tires.

Other than buying a stroker kit for my rb440, what does it entail as far as clearances and such? What does the stock cylinder mic at? I do have two of then, one is 30 over and the other one is stock, I think I would stroke the stock one because of cylinder wall thickness, besides it's a later model ...

Go ahead and replace all rubber lines. Check that you are getting fluid from the front line on the master cylinder, that one should run the rear breaks, I would check them both for pressure, bleed the right rear first, then the left rear, then the right front, then left front, DO NOT PUMP THE PEDAL ...

Is it a manual clutch or hydraulic. if hydraulic, it could be the master cylinder or slave cylinder, they are both cheep to replace, either way also the throw out bearing may not be sliding very well on the tranny.

My rear end is 3/55, my tires are 31x10.50x15, what color speedo gear do I need?

I have 3/55 gears now, I have 31X10.5-15s on it and a 4 speed with 4th gear overdrive. I can idle in first gear at 15 miles per hour, darn hard on the clutch.

Also, if you climb a big hill and the engine warms up a little, when you go down the other side, the temp will fall and there will be no back pressure, this in turn will cause a hose to collapse causing the engine to overheat...............always run a thermostat.

I picked up a 727 and a floor shifter and built a cross member, now you need a tranny cooler on the front of he radiator. It's not a big a deal as some people make it out to be.
