Re: Help identifying electrical part
I realize this is an old post, but wanted to confirm for future readers that the item in question IS definitely a factory part found on Sweptlines as part of the 1971 NOx system. It is the "NOx Spark Retard Sensor". See my post here for more details (it is the 5th Topic, on page 1): http://www.swept...

Re: Hood scoops on '71 auto show concept Swepty
Jim, you may be right! Am doing more research and given the angle and the lighting, the Dart scoops may just be what was used. How about the wheels, anyone have any idea what those might have been? Am guessing, given the lower core support, this would have been a 383-equipped, A/C truck, as well... ...

Re: talked to a sweptline salesman today
I know it's been many years, but if Frank has any info on the 1970 Chicago Auto Show concept truck, would like to know what hood scoops were used (Dart/Coronet, or ?) and waht engine was in it. Anything else about it, too. http://www.sweptline.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=39289&p=281936&hilit=Aut...

Re: Warn Locking Hub Question
To answer a few of the above items... The M15D hub looks like the M7, and apparently like the M15E. My '69 W200 Crewcab w/ 3500# Dana 44 (large knuckle) has this hub. The 'large thin o-ring' in the rebuild kit could go between the lock-out and hub, or the hub extension and the wheel hub. I've seen t...

If you find a source for NEW, let us know!
I've looked for years, but can only find used ones. '69 and up (single stick, NP205) uses the same boot as Dodges up through at least the late 70's.

Hi Kenny,
Did you ever have any luck getting the Town Panel/Town Wagon floor pans figured out?
I have one now if you need any measurements, pictures, etc.
Thanks!

Re: 1966 D300 slant six to 440 swap with NP435
While the 318A bellhousing (hydraulic) will certainly bolt on to a 318LA, the flywheels have different offset distances from the rear of the block. The 318A flywheel has a deeper crank flange, to clear the front 'wall' of the hydraulic bellhousing. The 318A starter also nests deeper into the bellhou...

Was driving Ol' Green ('71 W200, 360 ci, 435 4-spd) on a 300 mile highway trip Friday and began climbing a mountain pass , but she didn't seem to want to go. Engine revved higher, but she went slower... pushed in clutch, then released and could tell she was slipping bad. Rode the the clutch a bit an...

Note: if you rent, and if they ask you what you will be hauling on the trailer... consider your answer carefully. Many years ago UHaul (various places) stopped letting me rent when I told them I was going to haul a 196x Dodge pickup truck. So I began renting to haul a 198x Nissan Stanza ! :salut

Re: differential flange gaskets installation
Hope this isn't too late to help... First, it doesn't matter which way the ridge/groove faces on the metal "shim" gasket (p/n 2881314). There is one (1) of these per side, and it is located on the outer side of the brake backing plate, between it and the axle retaining cover that gets bolted on. It'...

Re: Turn signal switch
Not the same as your '66 (or any pre-'69)... connector pins are different, at a minimum. If it does mount to your column, I believe the turn signal lever will mount differently, too. If that all works, or you get it to work, I would change the under-dash wires to the '69 and later style connectors, ...
