A few from today

Got extremely lucky today. Found a good Saginaw gear box. Snapped a few picks from the yard. Now one has been allowed here for decades and owner doesn't like selling any parts. Glad I've know him for alot of years. Enjoy. https://s6.postimg.cc/hxjhiqhgh/20180901_083136.jpg https://s6.postimg.cc/w3z8...

center the steering box, turn screw till it bottoms out, then just bare barely back it off, tighten lock nut. but box must be centered or you will deztroy the box
Thanks. Did that, but still to much play. On the search for a different gear box.

You could buy a readily available FSM reprint and read the exact step by step process to do it.
First thing I bought for my first W200 - in 1978! There was no internet then to waste other guys' time asking questions if u were to cheap to buy the manual.
Thanks I will look for it

Re: Another gear box question

65 views and no help. Well i got it installed and still seems to have a lot of play. I have turned the screw in and out with not much change. Think that may have been an exercise in futility.

Another gear box question

Been a long time since I posted to the forums. I have been sucked into a different hobby, something the wife can do too. On to the question. My gear box is worn out, but found a Saginaw 535 in a parts truck Ive had for awhile.I got the kit from Midwest Steering. After cleaning up the parts i found s...

Call. Sounds like fun, this Saturday i have a Side Job on 03 cts. That and I'm fabricating a bracket fo...

Most definitely a GM. The valve covers are a dead give away. I've seen 409"s with the three deuces and the covers.
may be a B.O.P (buick, olds,pontiac)?
Not a real big bow tie guy. That's the limit of my expertise.

Re: 4x4 question. (not sure where to put it)

That is a good point, I had forgotten that the front drive shaft would be turning. As far as fuel mpg's never have i worried about that. My trucks have always gotten at least 10. Took it apart again. fount the fork is worn from the pads being gone. Guess i will start with a new fork. This is why I l...

Re: 4x4 question. (not sure where to put it)

David, I guess my question is is there any danger in just locking the right hand axle together. They say its for "off road use only".
But if i lock them together will it be safe?
I know the earlier ones were. and the only way to make it work was with the transfer case. (without locking hubs)

4x4 question. (not sure where to put it)

I have a (actually my son's) 2001 Dodge 1500 4x4. My question is for the power wagon gents. Under the front is the Dana 44 with the C.A.D. (central axle disconnect). When we got it they had installed a 4x4 cable disconnect. http://4x4posi-lok.com/app_dodge.html It does not want to engage consistentl...

Re: Help with '69 D100 318

By the looks of the fuel in the new filter, i would most likly start with fresh fuel in a can sitting on the ground with new hose, Bypass all the factory lines until you clean them. pull needle and seat to make sure fuel can flow past. if it runs good and engine sounds good, after it runs awhile and...

Re: anyone interested in 80's dodge turbo cars?

Oh yeah, red was popular. Nice thing is that there is still alot of performance upgrades for them. looks like a complete rebuild. Still, when done will look good and spank most small sedans on the road. My favorite performance shop was http://www.forwardmotioninc.com/html/about.htm they have alot of...
