Re: Gas in Crankcase after Fuel Pump Change

Check fuel line from pump to carb moving lines to replace pump line could be close to or against block or radiator hose picking up heat expanding fuel pushing it past needle and seat.

Vacuum choke

I have a 69 D100 225. I had a carter one barrel with issues. My son got me a Holly One barrel with vacuum choke. Runs great but I'm not sure what sets the choke, does it still have to be set manually.

No wonder the bang was so loud

Check the gear on my camshaft out. Bet you never seen anything like it in a 69 sweptline with a 225. The gear on the oil pump is fine, the nylon gear on distributor is damaged, the camshaft gear is destroyed. That's 8,000 miles on a long block the good news is the builder is taking care of it. Sorry ...

Re: Steering wheel replaced

I have very long arms so getting the wheel an extra four inches away really helps. With my arms straighter it is easier to drive, and its only one inch on each side. I don't see any difference in turning and a little quicker steering. For me it's a win win all the way round. I'll keep the original w...

Re: Steering wheel replaced

Forgot in last post I'm running a 1969 D100, the most dependable vehicle I've ever owned since 1982 when my dad trader for this truck. She became mine in 1995.

Steering wheel replaced

Delt with it for 23 years she steers so much better. No more difficult in a parking spot, the best $80 ...

Re: Fraser engines

I went with s and j engines out of Spokane Washington. For my 69 225,no one else had the block to build. 10years 100,000 mile warranty. I also was able to keep the original engine, just incase I want to do something to it myself.

Re: Jack point locations

If you jack using front axle do not jack in center. Bends axle enough to effect front-end alignment. Cost me $90 to have my axle straightened years ago.

Re: Outside Door Locks

My 69 d100 drivers side lock was broken and missing parts, I got tired of crawling over seat to lock and unlock door. Found electric door locks on Amazon easy install work great. Mine were $60 but I have seen them cheaper.

Re: Exhaust Leak Coming Into The Cab

You should see black where exaust is coming out, you should also by able to hear it. When I had the same problem the flange gasket was leaking. Also after you find leak make sure you have no holes in firewall, gear shifter gas pedal.

Re: Leaf Springs questions

I did mine on the truck. Support vehicle and let axel down. I used a torch and caught old bushings on fire. Push center out, the hard part is the metal sleeve out of the eye. It's time consuming.
