I just shortened and installed a 67 Imperial tilt/telescopic in my 64 D100 shortbed and hooked it up to the Fox body power rack and pinion that came with the QA1 independant suspension already installed.

Re: My 69 , still a lot of engine issues
@baz - I'm looking for a set of pulleys to use on my 318LA. I gave away two sets with poly motors I sold cheap thinking I had another set and I don't. PM me to discuss.

Re: Hood Ornament Hole on '64 Custom
That looks like holes for an aftermarket hood pin and trim piece. Turns out that is exactly what it was for - a hood pin. When I went to bolt on and align the hood, the hood brace was slightly bent affecting alignment. Took me days to straighten and complete the alignment. I bought a cheap pushbutt...

Re: New Member with New Project
The factory mopar steel wheels from the mid to late 60's in 15". Most run them with the smaller "dog dish" hubcaps. My original wheels wont clear the Wilwood disc brakes I installed. Original disc brake 15" mopar wheels are difficult to find but I just picked up this pair for the front. They need to...

Re: New Member with New Project
The Charger rear was too narrow. Decided I didn't want to pay for custom wheels and really just want to run old school original 2 piece steel 15" wheels.

Re: New Member with New Project
The other thing I got done was I freshened up the 67 Charger 8 3/4 rear-end by cutting off the perches, welding new perches on flipped, cleaned and painted the housing, backing plates and drums with a 3:55 489 case Sure Grip and installed it only to pull it back out, swap the center chunk for a 2:94...

Re: New Member with New Project
@Wildergarten - I saw pics from another owner with same Trans and LA small block showing where the stick comes through the floor with bucket seats. I bought a B body shifter stick I think will work but I can always break out the heat wrench if I need to. Added: It was brikar that shared his pics of ...

Re: New Member with New Project
@brikar - the A body A833 is mocked up but I haven't installed the Hurst shifter and stick I bought yet. Need to cut a hole in a pretty flimsy original front floor. I have reproductio front floors but haven't installed them yet. Also have a new lightened flywheel, pressure plate, clutch and hydrauli...

Re: New Member with New Project
@mikeyptv - It will require C- Notching but is currently just clearing the stock frame. One of many mini (?) projects to be completed before it hits the road. The "Roadkill" poly idea went out the window a while ago.

Re: New Member with New Project
Update Oct 2023: I still havent got back on the Charger and plans have changed a little on the shortbed. 318 poly and NP435 D2 have been removed, bellhousing crossmember deleted and my 318LA and A body A833 mocked up with a universal trans crossmember. Decided to go with the QA1 bolt in suspension i...

Re: 318LA rear sump Dipstick
Ok, I've learned that the dipstick location stays the same at the front of the block. The rear sump pan has a housing extension built in to guide the longer stick to the rear sump. I will attach of pic of the pan I purchased made by Dorman part #264-210, suggested by QA1. They also recommended a Mil...

318LA rear sump Dipstick
I'm getting frustrated and could use your help. I'm converting my 318LA to a rear sump pan to install a QA1 (Gerst) front suspension being delivered Friday. I ordered and received the pan and pickup but realized when I went to install it that I need (an oil pump gasket to install the pickup) the lon...

Re: a833 in sweptline
@brikar - Thank you very much for the information and especially pictures! Really helps me see how that shifter location will work. I'm selling the Crown Vic I've been saving and ordered the QA1 Gerst suspension last night. When I get it and the column I intend to use in place and seats mocked up I ...

Re: a833 in sweptline
@brikar - you used an A Body A833 in your Sweptline? Did you use the A Body shifter? Hurst or Inland? Are you happy with the shifter height and location? Do you know if a B body Hurst stick will bolt up to an A body Hurst shifter mechanism? Trying to find out if they mount the same before I start bu...

Re: New Member with New Project
Update over a year later. Lol. Still fighting off "new house to us" projects and have yet to start working on the Charger. Currently yanking the original poly 318/NP435 D2 (close ratio) out of the 64 which will be for sale soon. Condition and mileage unknown but motor turns over and the trans feels ...
