Re: Need help with D200 tire size

I do have a set of 16in rims on it already but the tires on the truck are the wrong size and falling apart. I'm looking to get tires as close to the original size as possible minus the 16.5 part.

Re: 318 rear main seal replacement

I used the Felpro gaskets on the 318 and haven't had any leaks yet. It's odd how the cork overlaps the little plastic tabs of the rear main seal. If your oil pan is like mine then the rear rubber seal is a little larger than the front seal, also the little pegs on each side of the rubber seals are d...

Need help with D200 tire size

I need to get new tires on my D200 and the book says its supposed to have 8.75-16.5-E tires. I have been trying to find a modern size in a 16in tire to replace the 16.5's but can't find one. Have any of you found a good replacement tire for this size?

Re: 318 rear main seal replacement

I just did this same repair on the 318 in my 76 D200. The 76 had a rope seal rear main too, it was so far gone that the oil was leaking into the bell housing and shortening the life of the clutch. I already had the timing chain off so I put a jack under the bell housing and pulled the 4spd trans bac...

Thermoquad options

Hey guys, I could use some help with the Thermoquad on my 71 D200. The truck has a 440 pieced together from different year car and truck engine parts. The tquad on it is a 9022, which a little searching says it came off of a 1974 truck with a 360 and auto trans. This truck has been sitting for some ...

Re: 4 speed id help

You might want to check out Novak's website, they have pictures of different 4 speed transmissions on their website and rebuild kits.

Re: talked to a sweptline salesman today

Funny thing, I haven't talked to Frank since I posed about it a few years ago. I still know where he lives, one of these weekends I will stop by and ask him. I was waiting until the 71 D200 was up and running so I could show him the truck but it keeps getting put on the back burner.

Re: need help with 440 problems

I just got back from an overseas deployment and I thought everyone would like an up date on this project. I ended up taking the heads to a shop in Modesto, CA and they replaced all of the valve seats, installed new bronze valve guides, installed new valves, springs keepers, and did a 3 angle valve j...

Re: Who has the bumper like this one......

I have a bumper that has a dealer name on it from California. They are rare in california, it came off of a 65 D100 and says Bob Sykes Dodge, Santa Clara, CA. My dad has several from ford dealers in CA.

Re: need help with 440 problems

The heads are at the shop and in the hot tank now. I will know in a few days if they are cracked or not. The shop owner is going to order new rocker arms so well see how much this is going to cost. I just found a pair of exhaust manifolds so hopefully I can have this engine back together this month.

need help with 440 problems

I might have a cracked cylinder head on the left bank. Is there a way to tell if the engine is out of a moterhome by the casting numbers? The number on the block is 4006630-440-3. on the data pad it has 6T440 E. One of the heads is 2843906-2 the other is 2843906-5.

Anyone know what these manifolds are from? It will help with my search if I know what they came off of.

Re: 440 part number questions

The left exhaust manifold is shot too, its full of hair line cracks. I took the manifolds to the machine shop that is going to do the heads and the owner told me to find a new pair because "those are not worth reusing". The part number on the left manifold is 3671788. Both are rear dump type.

440 part number questions

The right side exhaust manifold on my 440 has a broken ear and I'm not sure if it should be reused. I'm not sure what this 440 came out of, all I know is the casting date on the block is 1976 and the oil pan has a center sump. The part # for the right exhaust manifold is 3671936 E 1. Anyone know wha...

Re: How Did You Get Into Dodges and When?

My grandpa was not brand specfic on vehicles. My uncle was a chevy man and dad is a ford man. Grandpa gave me 3 studebakers that belonged to his late sister and brother when I was 8 years old. I was given a 1952 Dodge 1 1/2 ton truck when I was 12 but I was never really interested in Dodges untill m...

I have a 76 3/4 ton that has a lift gate on it. I want to remove it but every time I get close to taking it off I end up needing it. We use it on the ranch all the time, they come in handy.

Re: 440 questions

I did a compression test and it raised more questions than awensers. The shop manual says 100 psi min and only 1 cylinder is below that. The right had bank from front to rear is 105, 111, 110, 100. The left hand bank from front to back is 97, 100, 120, 115. Does this sound normal?

Re: 440 questions

Thanks for the info, I will be pulling the heads soon and taking them to the machine shop. Dad keeps telling me to put stop leak in it but that will just clog up the radiator that I just spent $600 getting redone, so thats not going to happen.
