Re: New AC

Did you end up doing the Vintage Air?

Curious, I'd like to add AC to my '67. Have just started researching.

Thanks for the Vans link. That'll get me close enough.

Source for gas pedal '65

Looking to buy a new gas pedal for my '65 D200.
Haven't found one from the usual Sweptline vendors.

Does anyone have a source? Or even a reasonable replacement?

Thanks!

There are many slant 6 trucks with an auto behind them. 61-68 with all the dash shifter components incl the dash itself are bolt in. Early ones will have the ebrake on the tail.
Thanks!

Re: '65 slant six transmission questions

Just so I know for future, can someone answer the automatic question?
Which one will work the best/easiest with my '65 slant six?

Re: 4 speed manual

Brewer's is a great source for anything A833. Very helpful.
As the others have mentioned, it's not easy, but it is doable.

Re: '65 slant six transmission questions

Thanks for the reply, PwrWgnDrvr

From a forum search, it also appears I'll lose the e-brake with this swap.
Is that correct?

Re: '65 slant six transmission questions

UPDATE: I have a line on a '68 4 speed trans, from a 1/2 ton slant six truck. Will this one work?

'65 slant six transmission questions

My '65 First Series D200 225 has the 3 speed manual. I had a Hurst floor shifter installed because my long legs kept getting in the way of the column shifter. It's an ok fix, but would like to do something better. I have a few options, and open to ideas/comments I have access to a 70s NP435 from a t...

Re: 4 speed manual

Not a big fan of the column shift in the relatively tight cab of my '65, so I understand.

The A833 4 speed should definitely handle that level of power. There was even an overdrive version used in the trucks.

Welcome here!

Cool that you are able to keep the truck in the family.
Looks like a fun project.

Re: 400 engine

I just bought one about a month ago after doing a bunch of reading on them. Mine is currently in good running condition and even as is will be a noticeable upgrade over the slant 6. 440parts among others makes a great stroker kit for them. I'm considering the 400>500 stroke, with Edelbrock performer...

Just ordered one.
Glad this was available.
Seeing new trucks every month hopefully will inspire me to get mine towards completion.

Re: newbie

Welcome!

I'm in a similar situation, with a '65 D200/slant6/3 on tree. Evaluating IFS, 4 link, etc. I have obtained a 400 big block and an A833 manual trans already.
Lurking and learning!

Re: 63’ D100 Adopted from Arkansas

This is the color sheet I was using
https://www.paintscratch.com/touch_up_p ... rucks.html

The truck I bought is currently the original white. I like both the Desert Turquoise and the Turf Green.

Thanks for posting this. Good info for a new Sweptline guy. The pushbutton trans was interesting too.
